Surveyors are working outside most of the time, so they must be properly suited to the conditions they are working in. This job also requires the ability to work well with others and attention to detail.
Most surveying jobs require at least a Bachelor's degree, so obtain one from a college or university of you are considering this job. Surveyors can expect to make between $30,000 and $60,000 a year. Surveyors may be surveying for a variety of reasons, but most are construction-related (building houses, constructing roads, shipbuilding, etc.).
