Can we eat lunch with our child?
Yes, you are welcome to eat lunch with your child. There will be designated tables in the cafeteria for a parent to eat lunch with his/her child. Please note other students will not join you at this table. You may bring in your own food to eat. You may not bring food for any student that is not your child.
You will be required to run through the Raptor System which will require an ID. Please remember to bring your ID with you each time you come to the office. At the end of lunch, say goodbye to your child in the cafeteria and then return to the office to check out. We ask that you not walk your child down to their classroom or remain with the class line. Thank you for your cooperation. We look forward to seeing you!
How will parents pick up a child early if needed?
Regular school attendance is critical to your child’s success at school. If you are picking up your child early from school, please note that students will not be dismissed from classrooms between 3:15 p.m. and 3:35 p.m.
What if I need to make changes to my child's transportation during the school day?
Changes to your child’s dismissal/transportation plans need to be communicated to the teacher AND the main office. If you need to make an occasional transportation change (car rider instead of the bus, etc.) you must send a note to your child’s teacher. If that is not possible, you may call the office on the day of the change before 2:00 p.m., so the office staff has adequate time to notify your child’s teacher. You must provide a note or call each day that you want your child to go home in a different manner than usual.
What if my child is arriving late to school?
Once the sign on the front drive is turned to tell you that you have arrived late, you will need to walk your child into the main office. Please do not have your student exit the car and walk in by themselves. A parent will need to walk the student in and sign them into school.
When is Kindergarten Orientation for SCE?
Kindergarten teachers will be communicating more information to individual classes after teacher assignments are made. It will take place on August 18. Please direct questions about this to your child's kindergarten teacher.
Can we walk our student in on the first day of school?
Yes, we allow you to walk your student down on the first day of school. You will need to park in the front lot. There is no entry before 8:20 a.m. You will need to be out of the building by the 8:35 tardy bell. We do not allow this past SCE Independence Day on Monday, August 30, 2022. We encourage our students to be independent. Our staff monitors and helps any student who needs help each day.
When will we find out transportation information?
Transportation information will be emailed on August 12, 2022. This comes from the district transportation department.

Important Reminders from our SCE Nurses
Welcome back! We are so excited to return to school this Fall. We hope everyone has had a wonderful summer and is ready to return to school.
If your child is an incoming Kindergartener:
All students must be compliant with immunization requirements before starting school. If your child is missing any immunizations, you should have received a phone call or email from Nurse Karen or Nurse Val. Whether your child is attending in-person or virtual school, immunizations must be current. If you have any questions regarding your child’s immunizations, please contact us.
If your child needs medication at school:
All medications, prescription and over-the-counter medications (Tylenol, Ibuprofen, etc) must have the proper paperwork completed. This includes the medication form signed by the parent and the physician. Parents are responsible for getting this paperwork completed and bringing in the medication to school. Students are not allowed to transport the medication to school. Medication cannot be administered until this paperwork is properly completed. Click here for the forms.
If your child has other medical needs at school:
Please contact Nurse Karen and Nurse Val to discuss other needs at school.
Please note that during the school year, some medical conditions may arise. Please check in with the nurses if this occurs.
Please let your students know that we have missed them and can’t wait to see them soon! We are looking forward to a healthy and happy school year!

Have you added your family photo to the Hall of Frames?
Over the summer, we add to our collage of framed photographs in our hallway. It looks amazing and our SCE Family will love being able to look up at these as they walk through the hallway. If you did not turn in yours, you may still do so, but know they will not be hung up immediately. This takes a team of teachers and other volunteers to do this. If you turn in a frame now, it will go up but be patient. Any frames turned in prior to July 2022 will be included in the frames we target to hang up for August. Frames received after July 2022 will be stored and hung up at a later date. Each family may contribute only one 5x7 frame.
What type of frames are we looking for?
Must be 5x7
Photo can be vertical or horizontal
Black Frame
Frames will be screwed into the wall. Please see the frame type we are looking for below. These frames hold up to be screwed into the wall. Not having the right frame may delay the frame being hung.

ALL INCOMING KINDERGARTEN and NEW SCE FAMILIES

Reminders about Birthday Treats
Birthdays are special to your child, and we want them to enjoy this occasion. At Stone Creek, we no longer are passing out birthday treats. Families may not bring in store purchased items for birthday treats. If they are brought in, the treats will be sent home with student. This is done to help protect students' safety.
Balloons are not able to go home on the bus. We also ask that you refrain from sending party invitations to school, unless you are inviting your child’s entire class or all boys or all girls of the class.
Cell Phone Policy Reminders
Our school rules around cell phones will be the following:
Phones stay turned off during school day.
Phones remain in backpack during school.
Students may not carry phones on them.
Teachers may require phones to be stored in phone holders in the classroom.
Teacher may give permission for it to be out, but all other rules apply when permission is not granted.
Students who fail to follow these guidelines will be sent to the office. Phones will be kept in Principal's office for the remainder of the school day.
Have you completed your RUP forms? Must be completed for technology access.
As we approach the start of the 22-23 school year, required student forms, along with the Responsible Use Policy (RUP) must be completed before your child(ren) can log into district technology resources. The forms, including the RUP can be signed online through Tyler Student 360. The portal will open on the evening of Friday, August 13. Please complete the required form(s) before the start of the school, so that your child(ren)’s access will remain enabled for the start of the school year.
The Tyler SISK12 Student 360 website can be accessed from the homepage on the district website or using the Tyler Student 360 app. When logging in, please click the “Online Registration” banner to complete the forms.
Please be aware that there is a 24 hour delay between the submission of the forms and your child's access being reactivated.

News from the Stone Creek Library
News from the Stone Creek Counselors
Welcome back, dragons!
Hello Stone Creek Families!
We would like to introduce ourselves as we are your new SCE School Counseling team- Sara Bradshaw and Elizabeth Secosh. Our goal is to improve student success for every student. We each have a Master’s Degree in School Counseling and have both previously been elementary teachers and school counselors, but we’ve also had a wide variety of experiences as educators and parents that help us relate to all students and families. We are so very EXCITED to join the DRAGON family!
With the first day around the corner, we know that "back to school time" can bring unwanted stress and anxieties to the family. Here are a few reminders to help provide your children with some comfort as we navigate the start of a brand new school year:
Set evening routines before school begins. This will not only help your student's sleep schedule, but allow the family to develop habits before the first day of school.
Begin reading each night (if not already doing so!). This can be done as a family or individually. Research shows that reading each evening helps a student’s overall performance in school.
Begin talking about school experiences and feelings toward attending school. Remind them that all feelings are okay and it is natural to feel anxious when starting something new! Providing a safe space for children to open up about school will offer comfort and hopefully some new insight for each family member.
Look for the positives!! For example, seeing friends they have missed over the summer, connecting with their teachers and the magic of learning new things.
Continue to have fun together- swimming, picnics, games- whatever your family enjoys!
Our goal is to help student’s grow academically, socially and emotionally and we are honored to be of assistance to your child and family. We are here to help in any way that we can! Thank you for allowing us to work with your children and please do not hesitate to contact us.
We look forward to getting to know all of you,
