Hearing and Vision Screening
Yukon Public Schools, Helping Hands office, comes to our school each year to screen students in grades KND, 1st & 3rd for hearing and vision. This year we have scheduled this on Thursday, September 21st. If your child wears glasses or contacts they need to wear them or bring them this day. A permission slip to NOT have your child’s hearing or vision screened, is available in the office.
Volunteers are needed for Hearing and Vision Screening on Thursday, September 21 from 8:15 am. until approximately 11:30 am. Care and Share Hours will be offered. Remember, a family member can come and volunteer for you and those hours will count for your family total, but ALL volunteers must be Safe Environment approved. Please contact Mrs. Hope in the office if you are interested or have questions about this opportunity!
SJN Celebrates Grandparents' Day TOMORROW!
Our time together is scheduled to last until approximately 10:00 a.m. For those children who would like to invite someone, but may not have a grandparent available to attend, they are welcome to invite a great-aunt or uncle, a neighbor or maybe a retired parishioner they know.
We look forward to our special time together!
ACT Aspire Testing
Please mark your calendars for ACT Aspire Testing. Saint John Nepomuk will be conducting our standardized testing for students in 3rd, 5th & 7th grade from October 24-27. Please do your very best to avoid any doctor’s appointments or any event that could have your child(ren) out of school. It is very important that students be on time and well rested each day.
Hurricane Harvey Collections
Thank you for your generosity at last week's school mass. SJN School collected $525.69 for hurricane relief efforts. Our collection tomorrow, Friday, September 8, will also be given to a fund the victims of Hurricane Harvey in Texas. This emergency collection will be used both to support the humanitarian and recovery efforts through Catholic Charities USA and to provide pastoral and rebuilding support to impacted dioceses through the USCCB.
If you prefer to make a donation using a credit or debit card online, the Office of Stewardship and Development has created a special site to receive online donations, which can be accessed at www.archokc.org/harvey.
The combined collections between our parish and school will be given to the fund on behalf of St. John Nepomuk Church and School. Thank you for your generosity, and please remember the victims and all those impacted in your prayers.
In Christ,
Natalie Johnson
