Hawks Happenings
May 1, 2019
It's May! Can you believe it?
One of our school staff goals this year was to look for ways to celebrate our hard work and the growth of our students. During each meeting that I am in, I hear teachers sharing about the growth their students are making. They are so proud of your child's achievements! Our instructional support staff is instrumental in working to meet the needs of our students. I am thankful we have caring staff members who want to see your child accomplish things they thought were never possible!
Next week is Staff Appreciation Week and I hope you are able to take a moment to celebrate the staff members who work with your child. A simple note, an email of thanks or even a hug are some of the best ways to show your appreciation. Thank you for sharing your precious children with us!
Field Day is scheduled for Friday, May 3rd
- 2nd Grade 8:15- 10:10
- 3rd Grade 10:15- 12:10
Volunteers should arrive by 10:00
- 4th Grade 12:15-2:10
Volunteers should arrive by 12:00
Please check in at the kickball field gate
Since the weather forecast today looks better than yesterday, we will make a decision tomorrow (Thursday) if we can carry on with our plans for Friday. We will make an all-call tomorrow night with this information. Thank you for your understanding.
Please remember to apply sunblock at home! Students may bring a hat to wear if desired!
We need information from you! We value our WvES stakeholders and we would like to hear from you! Please complete the two surveys below. Survey data is used by our School Improvement Team to evaluate our school efforts and to ensure we are being good stewards of our finances! Thank you for your time!
Local BCS Survey
Parent Survey
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/6GFM6NM
We’re asking for just a few minutes of your time to complete our Parent Survey. Your input is crucial to our ability to evaluate and improve the school environment. Please be assured that your responses will be kept completely confidential. The survey will only take a few minutes and will be available online until May 3. You may also complete this survey at your child’s school on paper or on a shared computer.
Leader in Me MRA Survey
You are being asked to complete this survey as part of an annual assessment to help all members of the school community (students, parents, and the adults who work at the school) understand how everyone feels about your child’s school. As you respond to each item, focus on your thoughts and feelings based on your own personal experience with the school, as well as your perceptions of your child's experience as a student. There are no right or wrong answers— this is not a test! We just want to know how you feel. Your responses will provide us with important information to help your child’s school become even better. All of your responses are completely anonymous. No one from the school will ever see your answers, and no identifying information (such as name, child’s name or survey ID) will be recorded with your answers. All results will be reported to your school only in terms of how each population responded. Individual responses are never seen by your school. The survey should take you approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. Please try to respond to all items.
