Curriculum Corner
Literacy
We enjoy kicking off this time of year learning about fairy tales, fables, and ending our time with tall tales and legends. This is especially a hit for all our learners as they gain exposure to new stories or various versions of familiar stories!
We focus in on the following skills:
- Fables- be able to retell (character, setting, beginning, middle, and end) the story and determine the "moral" or lesson learned in the story.
- Folktales- be able to retell the story and determine the overall lesson or moral (lesson).
- Fairy Tales- compare/contrast the same fairy tale by different authors or from different cultures.
