Live Graduations Get Green Light
Following Gov. Kay Ivey's announcement last week
Dear TCS Seniors and Parents of Seniors,
We received great news on Friday! Governor Ivey's new health order does allow for graduations after May 11.
In order for us to hold a graduation ceremony, we must still practice all social distance rules. Family members can sit together without regard to the rules, but we must have a minimum of six feet between families.
We are working this week to identify a location for the ceremony that will allow us to practice the social distance rules. It is possible that the ceremony will be held outdoors at your high school. We will know more shortly once we confirm with other possible locations.
We may have a date in early June for the ceremony. We will try to provide as much notification for you and your family so you can plan accordingly.
Our Board of Education, your teachers, and our entire school community are breathing an enormous sigh of relief as we held on to hope that we could have an actual ceremony. We are so thrilled that we are going to be able to celebrate this life milestone with you and your family.
In the meantime, celebration billboards featuring the Class of 2020 are live around town. Check your high school website for details.
Please note that our plans are dependent on local, state and federal guidelines and could be subject to change. Stay posted as we aim to communicate essential information as soon as it is ready.
