Important FAFSA Information
BHS Class of 2024 Families
This information is for seniors intending to apply to college (2-year or 4-year). This document contains information about financial aid and the FAFSA, a federal application that students/families should complete and submit. There are major changes and improvements coming to the 2024-2025 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. The U.S. Department of Education has announced the newly redesigned and streamlined FAFSA form will be available by Dec. 31st, 2023. Submission and processing of the FAFSA will determine federal and state options to assist families in paying for college.

Ready, Set, FAFSA! - virtual financial aid events on Tuesday evenings in January. Register Now!
A scholarship of $1,000 will be randomly selected from students who attend.
- Session #1: Create Your FSA ID, January 9th, 2024 7:00 p.m.
- Session #2: Apply for Financial Aid: FAFSA, January 16th, 2024 at 7:00 pm OR
- Session #2: Apply for Financial Aid: MN Dream Act, January 23rd, 2024 at 7:00 p.m.
- Session #3: Understand Your Offer Letter, January 30th, 2024 at 7:00 p.m.

**FAFSA Completion Night during Parent/Teacher Conferences**
The annual FAFSA Completion Night will be hosted at BHS during our Trimester 2 Parent Teacher conferences on Monday, January 29th, from 4:30 - 7:30 p.m. Our event will take place in the Library Learning Commons. We have been fortunate to secure the participation of many college representatives to assist families in completing their FAFSA. Please allow 30 minutes of time to work on your FAFSA - show up no that than 7: 00 p.m. Tara Pribnow, The College Place Director, will also provide a general financial aid presentation at 6:00 p.m. in the Bison Room for all interested families.
Please watch this short video in preparation for the FAFSA Completion Night so you have an opportunity to gather the required documentation needed to finalize your application including student/guardian Social Security #'s and knowledge of assets.
Please take advantage of this opportunity as it only occurs one time each year at BHS.
