Student of the Month 5th Grade - Anahi Paz
Anahi is a hard working student who gives 110% every day. She is kind and generous to her fellow classmates, and goes out of her way to help others. She encourages her peers to be successful and freely gives assistance to anyone who might need it.
Student of the Month 6th Grade - Mia Betancourth
"She works hard, is always helpful and friendly to her peers and her teachers. She always wears a smile and is speaking kindly about others. I believe that she exemplifies Lee's standard for student success."
Lee Teacher of the Month - Mrs. Amos
District Employee of the Month - Mr. Carpenter
Mr. Carpenter has experience and character unparalleled, and therefore, brings such richness and reality to his role as ISS teacher and aide. He has truly "been where they've (struggling students) been" and can therefore empathize with students as few can. He is a blessing to students and staff at Lee and loves serving the students and staff in any way he can. From teaching students to tie a tie, know which fork to use in a formal setting, greet a person appropriately, say "Please" and "Thank you" ...Mr. Carpenter works to strengthen confidence, etiquette, and relationships as well as help students with class and home work. Students thrive in this rich environment, all the while knowing they need to work to stay out of trouble and to do the right thing. Students love his leadership and support! Teachers love his willingness to do anything he can to support the campus.

9 Ways to Cultivate Courage in Kids by Dr. Michele Borba
Part 8 of 9
Teach kids to prioritize safety. Even as we teach our children to be brave, it’s still important to temper risk-taking. Certainly, we want our children to be safe. So tell your child that safety is always the first priority. If someone could get hurt and the risk is too great, teach your kids to always get adult help or call 911 if needed. Encourage children to trust their instincts, when they have concerns that something is unsafe.

Give a Leopard a High Five!
The Leopard High Five program is a way for you to salute any Gainesville ISD employee who goes above and beyond what is expected. Whether you are a parent impressed with that special touch your child's teacher added to a moment, or you are a co-worker who thinks the campus PEIMS clerk doesn't hear often enough about the great job she is doing, you can send a Leopard High Five! Nominations can be made by any parent, student, community member, or co-worker and any employee within Gainesville ISD is eligible to receive a High Five. Give lots of High Fives to anyone who has positively impacted your child at school!
The link is located on our website and is always open for nominations.
