Genesee Intermediate School District is hosting a one day training on Title IX for all Area Administrators that will be conducted by Lisa Swem and Katie Broaddus of Thrun Law Firm.

Lisa Swem
Lisa L. Swem has practiced school law with the Thrun Law Firm since 1988 and has devoted her law practice to servicing Michigan public educational institutions. Lisa’s interest in school law began in high school when she served as the first student representative to the Board of Education of the Buchanan Community Schools. Before law school, Lisa worked for five years as a social studies teacher at the secondary level.
Katie Broaddus
Katherine Wolf Broaddus joined Thrun Law Firm in August 2013. She received her undergraduate degrees in Sociology and Social Work from Western Michigan University (B.S.W., B.S. 2000) and received her Juris Doctorate from Valparaiso University School of Law (J.D. 2004). After law school, she practiced for seven years at a Farmington Hills law firm that represented school districts, intermediate school districts, and public school academies. Katie’s practice focuses on the areas of general school law, special education law, and labor and employment law.
