Lynching is when a mob or group of people kill someone (especially by hanging) for an alleged offense without a legal trial.

Family life and education
As a result of yellow fever when Ida was just 16 she had to take care of her brothers and sisters ,but in order to take care of her family she had to become a teacher yet dropped out of school at 16 but a while later she continued her education in Fisk university Nashville.

what did she accomplish?
She later developed a couple civil rights organizations like NERL and was a co-founder of the NAACP.
