STATE TESTING
Here is a letter regarding state testing and how to access the practice tests at home :)
Dear Parents,
Within the next few weeks, your child will be getting ready to take the Smarter Balanced Test (SBAC) by taking online practice tests.
What is The SBAC?
The Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC) is a computer-based assessment on Math and English Language Arts that will assess students 3rd-12th grade.
When is it?
We will be taking the Smarter Balanced Test the week of May 6th- May 10th. Your child’s attendance during this week is very important. Thank you for bringing your child to school each day on time. ☺
How do I prepare my child at home?
Your child has access to practice SBAC test questions online. If you are interested in seeing practice questions or doing test prep at home, please follow the directions below.
Directions for Accessing SBAC Practice Tests:
Click on ‘Student Interface Practice and Training Test’
Click on ‘sign in’ (No code or ID is needed).
Select grade 3.
Chose the ELA Practice Test (or whichever test you are trying to access).
Click select then ‘yes, start my test’
Click on the sound check icon and if you hear sound click ‘yes’
Click ‘Begin Test Now’
The practice tests are unable to be saved, however the more practice with repetition the better.
What is needed on a testing day?
Eating a healthy and hearty breakfast is important for your student’s success. If your child has a preference on a certain pair of headphones they would like to use, please have them bring them in, otherwise they can use the headphones available to them in class. Additionally, please make sure your child is on time to school due to the specific testing block we have each day.
If you have any questions or concerns, please let me know!
Students will need to access the online practice tests for part of their homework.
