Message from Mrs. Rodriguez
Dear Garcia Grizzly Family,
We all hope that you are enjoying your Spring Break! Our first day back is on Monday, March 20, 2023 which is also a minimum day. During Spring Break, Grizzlies should read everyday, login to iReady to continue to pass two lessons a week in reading and math, and also login to Legends of Learning Math Basecamp to practice math facts. I also want to remind all of our families about the STEAM Enrichment Program happening all week from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm from March 13 - March 17. This program is open to all Garcia students.
March is Women's History Month! We will be celebrating and learning about many of the important women who have made history and have changed the world. We also want to celebrate all of the women of Garcia including our teachers, staff, volunteers, mothers, grandmothers, aunts, and daughters! Please see our Women's History Month Spirit Week on March 27-March 31. On Friday, March 31 is a special day for all of our girls to come to school dressed as a woman who changed history. See our spirit week calendar below.
Please remember and know our goals for our 3rd-5th grade California Assessment of Student Performance & Progress C.A.A.S.P.P. (state exams) are:
English Language Arts: 37% proficient or higher
Mathematics: 31% proficient or higher
Remember what our theme is this school year! It's all about making good decisions, being critical thinkers, practicing and correcting ourselves when we make mistakes.
Level Up Grizzlies!
Some updates and reminders that are of importance are:
- Spring Break is here! March 9 - March 17, 2023 (March 20 is our first day back)

Updates From Your Assistant Principal, Mrs. Punchur
Grizzlies,
Hello Parents,
We hope that you enjoy Spring Break! Get plenty of rest! Our first day back is Monday, March 20.
Continue to remind your child about passing two iReady lessons in Math and Reading each week so that they can grow in the final iReady Diagnostic that we will take in May. We are going to have another big celebration for students who reach their goals. Also have your students use our new math program: Legends of Learning Math Base Camp.
Proud to be your assistant principal,

This is a friendly reminder that during Afterschool Dismissal, all parking lots, drive thru zones are closed. If you see that the cones or barricades are not up, they are still closed at dismissal times. This is for student safety.
