Advent greetings~

Dear parents and guardians,

I hope this message finds you well. I'm sure if you are like me, you feel as though the season is moving along so quickly.

It's beautiful to walk through Advent along side our students. We as teachers and staff, get to share in their excitement, joy, and at times sadness. This week, Ms. Carr engaged her 4th graders in an activity in which they were to associate Advent vocabulary with other words. One student said, "I put Messiah next to candle because He is the Light of the World." Walking through our 1st grade classroom a student told me, "Mrs. Schroeder, Christmas is a hard time for me because last year we lost our dog 7 days before Christmas." Their ability to reflect and value their emotions is awe inspiring!

May we take a lesson from the children. Let us find the time and space to prepare, quiet, and discipline our hearts for the full joy of Christmas.

Inclement weather communication~

In the event of a school closing due to inclement weather or other unforeseen situation, I will send out an email to parents. If you feel as though you've changed your email recently, it is imperative you call the office to let us know. Additionally, we will post the closing on our social media pages. Even if you see that Wauwatosa School District has closed, you still need the official word from WCS.

The Holiday Train is here today~

After a 2-year hiatus, the CP Holiday Train is back TODAY!

WCS students and friends will be out at Pocket Park (where the stairs go down to Wauwatosa Ave. and Harwood Ave.) after school to give out candy canes and Skate Night coupons to promote our school.

The train will arrive in Wauwatosa at the Harwood Avenue crossing at 4 p.m.

Musicians Alan Doyle and Kelly Prescott will perform from 4:15 - 4:45.

After the Holiday Train departs, head over to Root Common Park for the Wauwatosa Village Tree Lighting.

Pancake breakfast~

Home and School is hosting a Holiday Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, December 10th from 8am to 11am. Flyers advertising this event were sent home this week along with a ticket order form. Come join us for breakfast! We will also have a holiday photo booth for pictures. We know some will have winter sports but this will be a great event to stop in and eat prior or after your game. Let's enjoy each other's company while supporting the school.

Auction (April 29th, 2023) news~

The Lucky Draw~

You are NOT GOING TO BELIEVE this raffle we have planned for you!

Sorry... it doesn't involve travel to a warm, sunny destination. :(

You would not win a cool tailgate party with Packer tickets for your whole family.

It is NOT a French themed wine basket complete with Parisian chocolates and cheese.

It does involve quality time with our awesome teachers, staff, and principal!

Stay tuned for the big announcement at the Christmas Program!

Holiday Wish Tree for Our School~

Starting Monday, December 5th, please visit the tree outside the school office and select a wish from one of our teachers. The wishes are to help provide supplies, learning games and other items that will benefit our school community. Gifts should be returned to the school office with the wish tag by Tuesday, December 20th. Thank you!

SCRIP is a year round fundraising program managed by St. Bernard and St. Pius X. You purchase gift cards or certificates at face value. Merchants have provided these gift cards or certificates to the parishes at a discount that varies and is listed on the SCRIP order form for each parish. These discounts (SCRIP profits or rebates) are then accumulated and recorded for each school family. Fifty percent of the SCRIP profits earned by each family are returned as a credit on their tuition statements twice a year (January and May.)

Scrip rebates for purchases from May – mid-December will be applied to January tuition statements, so get those scrip purchases made in the next two weeks!

Starla’s Gourmet Seasonings –

Orders are due in the office no later than December 14th. You will receive your items in time for Christmas. Make checks payable to WCS or cash happily accepted. Thanks for supporting this school fundraiser.

See you around town this weekend!
