One week to go...
We have had a great week at school. I have loved seeing all the students dressing up with our theme days. It truly is a magical time of year. There is so much joy, laughter and excitement throughout the building.
This week, our students have completed district benchmarks and we look forward to celebrating all of their accomplishments. Teachers will also collaborate together to look at data and refine/adjust teaching methods to best support students with particular learning targets.
As a gentle reminder, Chick Fil A orders must be placed by midnight for your child to receive a Chick Fil-A lunch on December 15th. With this being a half day, students will participate in our Winter Blizzard Blast. Each student has picked options that they would like to participate in throughout the day. Each student will also rotate through to pack meals with Numana. We hope this is such a fun day for them.
Also, as you click the links for 5th grade and 6th grade learning plans, below, please know that we had a small glitch. You will not have access the link from 12.01.2022 however moving forward you will able to access any links that were previously posted. Thank you for your patience as we figure out the best way to update this for you each week.
Lastly, I just want to say how impressed I was with the performances and art work at the Fine Arts Festival last weekend. I enjoyed hearing the growth our students have made in choir, band and orchestra and was so impressed with the student's artwork.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend and as always please reach out if you ever need anything.
Lovejoy Proud,
Mrs. Halpin

December Safety Tips
1. Sharing the Road with School Buses. In all 50 states, it’s illegal to pass a school bus that has its stop arm out and red flashing lights on. Everyone plays a role in ensuring students get to school safety, so please use caution, and maintain a safe following distance.
2. Bundle Up. When bundling up your child in the morning, make sure your student still has an adequate line of sight and can hear traffic and other noises. Make sure your student can put his arms down.
3. Put Down the Phone. When on snow- or ice-covered surfaces, watch where you are walking, and driving as they might be ice that you can’t see.
4. Just a Little Patience. School bus drivers are very well trained on driving in inclement weather; however, snow and icy roads can slow down even the most experienced driver.
5. Pay Attention to Weather Alerts and School Messages. As hectic as mornings can be, parents should be aware of weather alerts and school cancellations or delays. Bad weather also can lead to early dismissals or a change in bus routes. Make sure to check your school website or local media when inclement weather is expected.
