Important Parking Lot Reminders
Here are some important parking lot reminders:
1) Please refrain from honking your horn at other people in our parking lot. It causes stress and anxiousness for our kids and families, as well as bystanders. Remember, we're all here for the same reason.
2) Please travel 5 mph or less through our lot.
3) Please come to a complete stop at the stop signs coming in and out of our school parking lot, along with those in the neighborhood.
4) At arrival, if you're using the small curbside drop off area, please be sure to pull up next to the curb (so as not to block through traffic). Please be sure that your child is able to get out of the car independently. Also, encourage your child to be ready to get out of the car as you approach the drop off area. If your child needs you to assist them, please park your car in a parking spot, help them, and walk them up to the school.
5) At arrival, if you're behind someone using the small curbside drop off area, please be patient. Their "little person" is trying their best to gather their belongings and get out of the car to start their school day. Please don't honk at them. This is stressful for kids.
6) At dismissal, please don't stop in the middle of the lane to wait for your child to come out. This holds up many cars behind you.
Please review the procedures for these "problem areas" below:

Be Mindful of Stop Signs in the Subdivision
We're working with the Fraser Police Department to try to get this problem under control, as the safety of our Eagles is the most important thing.
Parent Meetings Are Underway To Improve School Attendance
Some of these strategies may serve as a good reminder to everyone:
Talk to your child about how going to school every day will help them do well in school and achieve their hopes and dreams.
Set goals for positive attendance (i.e. no tardies/absences this month)
Reward/acknowledge students' positive attendance habits.
Make sure students get to bed early and awake early enough to get to school on time.
Set up medical and dental appointments for weekdays after school, Early Release/Half Day afternoons, or weekends- if possible.
For children with a slight stomachache, headache or allergies, who don't have a contagious illness including Covid-19, plan to send them to school. Call a health provider for advice for children who complain regularly.
For children who cannot avoid missing school, check Canvas for learning resources. Also, be sure to call our attendance line at: 586-439-6590
Ready or Not: Cold Weather Is Here(ish)!
We're starting to see MANY students bundled up each day, which is great! Please be sure to send your child to school dressed for the weather each day. Students will start needing warm coats, gloves, hats, scarves, and/or boots daily throughout the winter.
Please take time to label each and every item- because our lost and found gets bombarded with lost winter accessories throughout the season
Please note that, per Board Policy, we will be having outdoor morning lineup and heading outdoors for our 20 minute recess(es) if the windchill is 10+ degrees.
Time outdoors is time well spent for kids, in all seasons

Character Club is Back!
Throughout the year, we will be honoring our students with Character Club Awards. Teachers are already working to determine students that exemplify all of the different character strengths for the whole year. Each week, we will be distributing Character Awards to some of our students. At the end of each month, student award recipients will have a Character Club lunch together to celebrate our positive character!
