OPEN HOUSE TONIGHT
Alta Vista's annual Open House is tonight. We will start with a Home and School Club meeting in the cafeteria at 6:30. Classrooms will be open from 7:00 to 8:00. Here are few tips and suggestions to make the most of your evening:
- Celebrate your child's growth and success as you visit his/her classroom. Let your child become the tour guide, showing you what he/she has done.
- Ask your child questions about what he/she learned. What was the most difficult part of the process? What was a favorite part of the activity? What is the best memory from the year?
- Say hello to the teacher, but with such a limited timeframe, individual conferences aren't appropriate during Open House.
The classrooms can often times become crowded with families looking for a sneak peek for the coming year. Please remember that Open House is intended for teachers, students, and families to celebrate and share this year's achievements. It is not the time to interview future teachers about their background, educational philosophies, or differentiation strategies. It is also important to note that we do not take teacher requests when building classes for the upcoming school year. So although you may enjoy a peek into the next grade level, please allow the teacher to enjoy her time with this year's students and families. Thank you.
We look forward to seeing you in the cafeteria at 6:30 tonight.
