VOLUNTEERS: The District requires anyone who volunteers in our school, to complete the online registration form. You can access that form at:

“Tidying Up” Spring Cleaning Support
Need: 2-4 adults
Friday, April 19th 9:00-11:00 am
JSA supports a large number of students each year with winter coats, hats, gloves and boots. We also assist learners who may find themselves in need of a clean pair of pants or shirts during the day. JSA thanks the families who donate items that their child may have outgrown for these needs. Our storage space is limited however and as we move into Spring, that space is in need of a clean out and re-organization. Is making a space tidy something that brings you joy? If so, it would bring us joy to have the volunteer assistance! Please contact Ms. Conyers, aconyers@cr.k12.ia.us or 319-558-2174 to join her for a morning of organization fun!
Field Day Volunteers:
Mark your Calendars! Our Field Day at Brucemore is coming up on May 23rd. We would love to have volunteers to assist classrooms as they go through the events. To volunteer contact Leah Ferring for the class schedules at LFerring@cr.k12.ia.us

Cedar Rapids Community School District Notes....
As a public entity we are required to bid out goods and services on a regular basis. Student Photographs is a project that requires bidding and was up for renewal this year. 3 companies presented a proposal to the District for consideration. A committee comprised of 3 Principals, 2 Secretaries and 1 Supervisor from Food and Nutrition chose Lifetouch as the new photography vendor. The committee made their decision based on overall best value; they looked at criteria such as price, service, and quality. Lifetouch's photographs are of great quality, their price was very reasonable, their partnership with Shutterfly brings some added benefits, and their process on picture day should make the day smoother at the buildings. As have previous vendors, Lifetouch will also be donating to the Cedar Rapids Foundation. So, beginning in the fall of 2019, we welcome Lifetouch as the new student photography vendor.
