Omaha Virtual School Registration
Step 2
Congratulations!
Your student has been chosen to continue in the enrollment process with OVS. During this portion, we will have you register with Omaha Public Schools, fill out NEOP paperwork (out of district only), and make a profile with K12.
Once complete, we will get your student enrolled in classes and you will be assigned your students class day. We will be starting our year completely online, with the goal of returning to blended learning when it is safe to do so.
All items must be fully completed by August 5 to start school the week of August 10.
If your student's registration has not been received by this date, we will be unable to enroll your student this year.
Nebraska Enrollment Option Program Form
The NEOP form must be signed by your home attendance district before a student can be enrolled in Omaha Public Schools. This should be signed by someone in the administrative offices in your district. This is REQUIRED before we can enroll. This is not necessary for currently enrolled OPS students.
- Fill out section one of the form. Contact the student placement office in your home attendance district to sign section two.
- Upload form in the NEOP section of the Omaha Public Schools registration. If you are unable to upload, please send form via email to virtualschool@ops.org.
Here is information for no contact submission of the NEOP form. These were the only districts to provide this informaiton. If your district is not listed, you will need to contact them to find out where to get it signed.

Omaha Public Schools Registration
If your student is currently enrolled in Omaha Public Schools, please skip this step. We will contact you if we need updates to their information
If your student has previously been enrolled in Omaha Public Schools, but is currently enrolled outside the distrct, please email virtualschool@ops.org so we can check for updates that might be needed in our records. Do not fill out a new Omaha Public Schools online registration.
If your child is new to Omaha Public Schools, please follow the link below to complete online registration. Before you begin, please have the following items ready to submit.
- Birth Certificate
- Immunization records
- Physical exam (exams are required in KG and 7th grade, but we need an exam for ALL students who are new to our district)
- Signed NEOP form (out of district only)
You may scan or take a CLEAR picture with your phone camera. If you take a picture, please get as close to the document as possible without cutting off information.
Tips for filling out registration:
- Write down the application number provided at the beginning. You may need this later.
- Be prepared to enter information for parent/guardian, emergency contacts, doctors, etc. You will also enter any health concerns here.
- If you encounter an error after submitting, please contact virtualschool@ops.org and provide your application number. Many times it has come through on our side and it does not need to be completed again. Please do not fill out a new application without contacting us.
- Plan on the application taking around 30 minutes to complete.

K12 Parent Portal
K12 is our online learning management system. We will need you to register with them so your student can be enrolled in classes. This must be done before we can give you a start date.
If you have previously applied to OVS through K12, please contact us at virtualschool@ops.org and we can find your application for you. Please do not open a new portal account.
Next Steps
We will be beginning our year completely online. Our goal is to return to face-to-face sessions once per week as soon as it is safe. We will be assigning days to your students soon.
Please continue to monitor your email frequently. We will be sending information about device pick up, orientation, etc.
If your student is in high school, you will also receive a separate email from our counselor, Ms. Susan Barnes about class selection. Please watch your email. Thank you!
