Prime Time Reading (Grades K-2)
Prime Time Reading Night is TONIGHT Friday, February 9th from 6-8PM for our K-2 students. Please plan to arrive between 5:45-6:00. The theme this year is "Reading Makes Dreams Come True", and students (along with a parent) will enjoy fairy-tale themed activities and skits performed by their very own teachers!
Students are invited to wear their pajamas, but will need appropriate footwear and clothing for a Gym activity. You will also want to bring a favorite book, a flashlight and a blanket.

DVD Literacy
Thank you to all of the volunteers that helped record our 3rd grade students this week!
The committee will begin taping our 2nd grade students the week of February 26th. Please see information below if you are interested in helping!
If you have not yet signed a permission form for your child (it only needs to be done once), a copy will be sent home in your child's communicator or you can find it online here (see also permission letter).
The DVD Literacy committee needs volunteers to help record the students during the school day. No experience necessary! If you are interested in volunteering, please email Amy Thompson at amybeth_g@yahoo.com.

DVD Literacy Taping (Now! 2018)

Race for Education (Spring 2018)

Yearbook (Spring 2018 and future)
The Yearbook Committee is looking for help with the Spring 2018 Yearbook as well as someone to begin learning how to put together the yearbook when the current staff 'graduates'. The students love receiving a yearbook, and it is a great way to preserve memories from year to year. If you are interested, please contact Sandra Esposito at sandra_esposito05@yahoo.com.
Pod Parents (Summer 2018)
Our Pod Parent committee needs a new chair for the 2018-2019 school year. Pod parents are volunteers that help teachers with many 'start up' tasks during the first week of school, which include copying, cutting, labeling, sorting, etc. The main role of the chair of this committee is create a Sign-up genius to send to interested parents. Please contact either Sheila Hercek at sheilajlhercek@hotmail.com or Meg Dick at meg213@gmail.com if you are interested!

Reminder: all volunteers must fill out the Registration and Disclosure Statement and return it to the office. There are also copies available in the Vernfield office.

Free Family Program (Wednesdays, Feb 7 - Mar 21)
The Indian Valley Character Counts Coalition (IVCCC) is offering a free "Family Night Out" program for parents and youth ages 10 - 14 at Indian Crest Middle School. The program, dinner, child care for younger siblings, raffles and prizes are all provided free of charge. You and your children will learn skills to help your family succeed during the teen years. Wednesdays 5:30 - 8:00 PM for seven weeks beginning February 7th. Registration is required by contacting Donna Lea Pyrz at donnap@northpennymca.org or 215-723-3569, ext. 116. IVEF February Fundraiser
The Indian Valley Education Foundation (IVEF) is holding a fundraiser through One Village Coffee. A portion of every purchase will benefit IVEF and the Souderton Area School District. Money raised will fund programs like SASD Next, 1:1 Computing, STEAM Initiatives, Innovation Grants and more! Place your order online between February 6th and February 28th to support classroom initiatives in SASD!
