History
It is estimated to have been used in Peru as far back as 5000 years ago. It was likely to have been introduced by Arabic trader to the Spaniards around A.D. 800, introducing it to Western Europe. Samuel Slater would later bring the cotton mill design over from Europe to America. Eli Whitney developing the cotton gin in 1793, which got the seeds out of the cotton, taking the time out of sorting. Today a good amount of cotton is woven outside of the United States.

It is absorbent, can print well, machine washable, and can retain color.
