Staff Spotlight - Chelsea Sivells
This is Chelsea Sivells’ 9th year of teaching. She spent two years in Marble Falls where she was an assistant basketball and track coach. She is now in her 7th year at Burnet. She spent her first 5 years here as an assistant basketball coach and the girls track coach for 3 years. She has taught a wide variety of courses in the CTE department and is currently teaching a mixture of business, technology and design courses this year. Her passion for teaching revolves around the relationships she gets to build with her students and seeing their individual successes both in her courses and within their own lives.
Chelsea was born and raised in Kansas and met her husband of 9 years, Jacob, at a little college in Kansas. They have a daughter, Charley, who is five and in kindergarten at Shady Grove and a son, Ty, who is two. The family dog is an extremely hyperactive English Setter named Lexi. She enjoys college basketball and spending time together with her family.
Rotary Student of the Month
Danielle has been an active NHS member since her sophomore year. She continually shines in the four pillars on which the National Honor Society exemplifies: scholarship, leadership, character, and service. Danielle earns grades that are exceptional, but more than that, she strives to truly understand the concepts rather than just make the marks. Danielle is a main leader in her classes and across the campus; she is there to set an example ,and help others along the way. Danielle is truly a young lady of character; she displays integrity, kindness, determination, grit and other not often seen traits everyday in all she does. Danielle goes above and beyond in serving her school and community; she truly is a servant leader- even when she is busy, she finds the time to volunteer and serve.
Danielle is not only NHS president, but is Senior Class president as well. She represents BHS on our varsity basketball and track teams. Outside of school, Danielle is a Club Leader in Young Life and also spends her time as a mentor to 4th graders with Academy 4.
After graduation, Danielle plans on heading to Texas A&M to major in Biology with the goal of becoming a Physician’s Assistant. No matter what Danielle sets her goals to, I know she will not only meet but will exceed these goals. The wonderful qualities that Danielle has exemplified here at BHS, I know will grow as she becomes a servant leader in this world.
