Public School Volunteer Week
So thank you to all. PTO, room parents, our book room ad library volunteers, to those who signed up to provide staff snacks on Fridays, to each volunteer who works in the classroom or assists the front office - WE COULD NOT DO IT WITHOUT YOU. Even during the last two years when there were limitations, there was always support. Thank you for your continued partnership. You are the reason Anasazi is such a great please to be.
Last week for our Read-a-thon!
We are so excited to have a fundraiser that encourages our students to read! That is our main goal…encouraging reading. The money-raising portion is just a little added bonus. We’d love for ALL students to participate in the reading portion, even if they don’t ask for donations. We’re going to celebrate ALL students’ reading progress no matter how much they read. We’re simply encouraging them to read as much as possible.

Anasazi Elementary School invites you to provide input into your child’s classroom placement for the 2022-2023 school year. We also value teacher input in this process. As a staff, we devote our expertise and time toward creating classroom assignments that ensure a balance for optimal teaching and learning. We will work hard to match these needs with a teacher and classroom environment that will assist in the overall success of your child. By combining this input, we feel that we can provide an appropriate learning environment for every child.
The OPTIONAL Environmental Request Form can be found here
*This is NOT a teacher request form.

Changes in the Spanish Room
Mr. Tretton will be finishing this school year as our Anasazi Elementary Spanish teacher. Though not a native speaker, Zach had the opportunity to study Spanish extensively throughout his academic career, including an immersion program in Bogotá, Colombia when he was in high school and Mérida, Mexico while attending Arizona State University. After finishing his undergraduate degree, he moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina where he studied International & Constitutional law before returning to Arizona to work in education policy. Having also taught English in Seoul, South Korea, Zach is excited to join the Anasazi team to share his passion for Spanish/world languages with our students.
IB Corner
On to the next phase for IB Accredidation
Last month our IB consultant report was submitted! Most items were marked 'clearly demonstrated' with just a hand full 'in progress'. A huge thank you to our IB Coordinator and teachers whom worked endlessly, during a pandemic, to complete the candidacy phase in three years. The amount of work completed daily by staff to make this happen is to be commended.
Most importantly, under the question of "is the school ready to submit the application for authorization?" we got a YES! We hope to submit the official application for our authorization visit shortly. Thank you families for the continued support.
This month's IB Learner Profile Attribute is Balanced
This month we are focusing on being Balanced.
We understand the importance of balancing different aspects of our lives—intellectual, physical, and emotional—to achieve well-being for ourselves and others. We recognize our interdependence with other people and with the world in which we live.
Please remember to look at the Anasazi in Action page on our PYP Parent Portal to learn more about what your children are learning.
Anasazi PYP Parent Portal
We have created an Anasazi PYP Parent Portal for you to be able to find information about Anasazi and our PYP journey. Here is a link to an introduction video about our portal and the information that can be found there.
A Note from our Community Specialist
Dear parents, staff, and students:
I have created my new Amazon wish list to continue our labor of love and support ALL of our new comers! Link below. Your donations are always welcomed and appreciated.
On another note: please remember to contact me so that I can register your child/children in our Back to School Program sponsored by Vista del Camino Community Center of Scottsdale. This program is targeting 1,000 children from SUSD schools that might be in need of some help before the next
school year starts. This program provides them with back pack, school supplies, clothing, underwear, and shoes.
You can call me at 480-484-4614 to make an appointment.
As always, I am so grateful for all the help I have received from this wonderful community.
