Leadership Message: Adoration
Our Jean Vanier school community will spend May 23rd and May 24th focused on Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.
We will begin with a school wide Mass Tuesday May 23rd in the school gym at 9:00 am. Parents and family members are invited to join us.
Our “chapel” will be set up inside the library on May 23rd and 24th, where each class will be able to spend some time in prayer and song with the Blessed Sacrament. Parents are more than welcome to spend time in adoration as well. Please feel free to drop in and join one of our classes. Mrs. Boehm will be leading Adoration in the library. Please check in at the office and either, Mrs. Wispinski or Mr. Marshall will be able to assist you with where and when to join.
What is Eucharistic Adoration?
Eucharistic adoration is when we spend time in prayer with Jesus in the form of the Blessed Sacrament. The blessed sacrament could be in a Tabernacle or a Monstrance while we are praying
What is the Blessed Sacrament?
Once a host had been Consecrated at Mass, we call it the Blessed Sacrament because it is no longer bread, but is Jesus’ Body. The Blessed Sacrament is placed in the Monstrance which holds the Eucharist up high so everyone can see it.
What do we do during Adoration?
Talk to Jesus in your heart about how you love him, what you are sorry for, ways you want to thank Him, and for things you or others may need
Sit quietly looking at Jesus, listening to Him
Pray
We look forward to experiencing first-hand the power and beauty of spending time with the Living Christ in our “chapel”.
Reminder that there is no school on Friday or Monday. Have a great long weekend!
