About My Family
I have been happily married to my husband Chris for 20 years. We were teen sweethearts and have been together 23 years.
We have 4 wonderfully amazing children and 2 granddaughters. Our oldest is Alexandria (Lexi). She is 22 years old and the mother of 3 year old Abigail and 1 year old Madalee. Lexi is in nursing school at Galen and works at UPS.
Our son Christian is 18 and is a freshman at WKU studying Political Science.
Our Daughter Ashlyn is 13 and is currently a 7th grader at East.
Last but definitely not least is the baby, Caiden, who is 9 and is in 4th grade at Centerfield.
And My Animal Family
We have a dog named Boston Sox (yes we are fans of all Boston pro-teams). He is a medium size mixed breed, He will be 2 years old on October 24th.
Other Places, Other Times
I grew up in Texas -- East Texas as a child and North Texas as a teen. I moved to Kentucky and found that I loved the changing seasons and area.
My father passed away in 2005. My mother and sister are still in Texas so we moved back until 2010. Although I love Texas, Kentucky is my home.
Life Before OCPL
Before the library… oh wow… umm… Was there life before the library???
Just kidding! I was many things: mother, educator, cheerleading/softball/volleyball coach. I have served on the board of many of the youth leagues my children have participated in. Sports were a very large part of our lives for many years. Thankfully that time has slowed down, although I miss it some days.
How I Got Here
As a patron I loved coming to the library and always felt like it was a peaceful place. I was looking for part time work when the kids started back to school. I randomly messaged Mary Mielczarek. She encouraged me to put in an application. A few months later Graham called and the rest is history.
Of Course We Have To Include Books!
As a child I loved to read, and craved the knowledge it provided, as well as the exposure to worlds and vocabulary I was not accustomed to. I think books are a very important and essential aspect of society. I have thankfully always maintained that love and couldn’t imagine a life without books!
I Bet You Didn't Know!
I’m pretty much an open book (pun intended LOL), but you may not know that I am a Kentucky Wildcats fan.
I'd Just Like To Say...
I really enjoy working at the library! All of my co-workers are pretty great and the patrons are, too.
