Kingdom of Songhai
The Songhai Empire was located in west Africa. In present day Guinea and Mali
Divided itself into 35 urban cities, which payed taxes and were a lower class than the central city. Also was organized by caste system.
African kings and merchants received various trade goods including beads, cowry shells (used as money), textiles, brandy, horses, and perhaps most importantly, guns. These guns became a very important trade commodity when West African kingdoms were increasingly organising their militaries into professional armies.
The Kingdom grew to large, and rebel groups started to form And revolt. In 1620 the empire split into dozens of states
