Word for the Warriors...
All students continue begin TN READY testing this week! Our students have worked hard all year and this week, they will demonstrate what they know! Please make sure that your students get a good sleep tonight. Students need to eat a good breakfast tomorrow morning and need encouragement and reassurance that they will do just fine! Please make sure that your child arrives on time each morning for the next weeks. We want to make sure each child is rested, relaxed and ready to to their best!
Testing will begin first thing each morning. The testing schedule will be as follows:

Friday – No testing/Make up Day

Save the Date:
- All medical forms and physician orders and medications are due on or before April 24th for DC trip. If any forms are needed those can be picked up at the clinic. Please contact school nurse with any questions.
- TCAP testing is Monday through Thursday of this week! Make sure you get enough sleep and eat breakfast. Arrive on time. Do not schedule appointments during testing time. Do your best!
-The Student Faculty Basketball game has been scheduled for Friday afternoon, May 5. We will begin approximately at 1:45 and go through the end of the day. Dust off those sneakers and get ready for some basketball. Annette True has agreed to coach the players and facilitate their rotation. PTSA will be running the concession stand. There will be more information to come soon.

JSMS Jam...
- TO ALL FAMILIES of 8th GRADERS GOING TO DC: The Parents Meeting for the Washington DC Trip has been changed to Monday, April 24 at 5:30 pm in the Auditorium. This meeting is not mandatory but will give parents a chance to find out any information or ask questions that they may currently not know. The previous date for this meeting was May 1.
- JSMS DC MEDICAL FORMS DUE: All medical forms and medications for the DC trip are due on or before April 24th. If any additional forms are needed, students can come to the clinic and get those. Also, if parents or students have any questions, please feel free to contact school nurse at 378-2452.
Deadline Approaching for Kingsport City Schools Zoning and Tuition Applications for 2017-2018 School Year
KINGSPORT, Tenn. – Kingsport City Schools will accept Zoning and Tuition Applications for students in grades K–12 for the 2017-2018 school year until April 30, 2017.
Parents who would like to request their child attend a different city school, instead of the one for which their child is zoned, must apply for a zoning exception. Parents of students who are not legal residents of the City of Kingsport must submit a tuition application to attend Kingsport City Schools. Parents or legal guardians must apply annually for their child’s tuition and zoning status, even if they attended Kingsport City Schools during the preceding school year.
Applications can be found online at k12k.com by clicking this link, 2017-18 Zoning and Tuition Application or if need be, in-person at the KCS Administrative Support Center, 400 Clinchfield Street, second floor, downtown Kingsport. Application deadline is April 30, 2017.
- SUPPORT THE JSMS ORCHESTRA! The JSMS Orchestra Boosters have helped with purchasing music, repair of instruments, more concert attire as we have grown in numbers, guest section clinicians, transportation to events, and as scholarships for instrument rental fees. This carwash fundraiser will extend through the summer months and the code can be used multiple times and at multiple locations. We encourage that the flyer be kept in the car so when the time comes for a car wash it is handy. CODE: 4569 (See Below)
- SUPPORT THE JSMS CHEERLEADERS! April 28th from 6:00-8:00--Join them for a 2 Hour GLOW Hip Hop class in the BIG GYM! $10 for adults and $5 for students. (See Below)

Books are due on May 1st.
Check outs for each grade will cease on the due dates listed above. We know these dates seem early, but we need this time to check with the students, then call or mail reminders home if the students do not produce the book(s).

As previous recipients have stated, it is hard to pick just one of my colleagues who deserves to be recognized as the W.O.W Recipient. The person I chose is always doing for others and helps out everywhere in the school. On any given day she could find herself subbing for a teacher, helping in the office, hall duty, bathroom duty and the list could go on. Debbie Hash is a Warrior through and through!
