History
Martha Graham Dance Co. was created in 1926 by Martha Graham herself. It is the oldest and one of the most well-known contemporary (modern) dance company in the world. It is located in New York, NY but travels world-wide preforming in more than 50 countries.

- Appalachian Spring (1940)- made popular because of the score by Aaron Copeland
- Lamentations (1930)- danced by Graham in a tube costume
- Dance is a Weapon (2010)0 used dance to show transformation of politics of 1930 onward
Martha Graham Dance Company Today
When Martha Graham died in 1991 at the age of 96, the company only continued to grow. Today the company is made of 20 core dancers under the artistic direction of Janet Eilber and Denise Vale. Both of those ladies studied under Martha Graham herself and have continued her vision today.
