Back-to-School News from Madison MS
2022-2023
Message from the Principal
Hello Mustang Family,
Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! I am honored to serve as your principal and look forward to working with you this school year. Last school year, we made significant progress by strengthening our school’s climate and culture, improving teaching and learning; and, enhancing parent and community engagement. Consequently, on the 2022 Florida State Assessments accountability report, we increased our total points earned by +56. We were four percentage points from earning a “B” (school grade) despite the challenges of COVID-19. We are very proud of our students and optimistic about the future with the support of our stakeholders.
Last school year, we introduced our bi-weekly electronic newsletters with important information related to academics, school policy, extracurricular activities, important dates, and parent meetings. We strongly encourage you to read the newsletters to remain informed (available to you via email, text message, school website, social media accounts, and Canvas). On August 8 2022, from 3:45pm-6:00pm, we will have Open House/Meet the Teachers. During this time, you will have an opportunity to meet Madison’s faculty and staff, receive your child’s schedule, and join one of our parent committees. Our parent committees are an important part of our school’s culture and we would love to have your participation. Currently, you can join our award–winning Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA), School Advisory Council (SAC), and MASA (STEM Booster Club). If you cannot commit to one of our committees, we encourage you to communicate with your child’s teachers regularly (via email, phone, or Canvas) and monitor your child’s academic progress using the Canvas platform. If you need assistance accessing Canvas, please contact our media specialist Ms. Koji at amanda.koji@hcps.net.
Thank you for choosing Madison Middle School and I look forward to seeing all of you during Open House/Meet the Teacher.
All the best,
Mr. David Parker
