Connect - Inspire - Achieve
Welcome!
Hello SKTA families! We have made it to the end of our first week of school! Our school was filled this week with joyous sound of little feet moving through the halls, laughter and greetings as students had the opportunity to re-connect with staff and classmates!
As always, the first few weeks of school may have a few 'hiccups' and changes as we work though some of the initial challenges of timetables, student groupings and bussing. However, as we settle in and our staff and students become accustom to the new school routine, we know our school will continue to be an incredible place for children to grow in mind, body and spirit!
As we move though these initial weeks, families can expect communications from classroom teachers as we seek to build strong, respectful relationships with our parents and guardians.
I encourage families to keep the lines of communication open and if any time families have questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us directly at the office.
All of us here at SKTA are excited to serve our students and school community and we look forward to a great year!
God Bless!

Faith
Our Divisional 3 year faith theme is: Growing in the Trinity: Love, Mercy & Grace. This year we will be focusing on 'Growing in Love: with the Father'. As we seek to animate this theme throughout the year we will be sharing with our students an understanding of the infinite love we receive from God and how we are called to share the love of God with those around us.
As we move into a new school year we pray for God's blessing on all our students and families, may we all seek to build the Kingdom of heaven, here on earth at St. Kateri Academy. We invite all families to keep our school and school community in your prayers throughout this school year!
As members of the St. Jean Baptiste community, we have also included a link to our parish website for families to easily access.
Information for families Families
As we enter a new school year, we would like to remind families of a few items to help ensure a successful year.
Pick Up & Drop Off
- For those families driving to school we ask that the drop - off lane be for 'quick' drop off's and pick ups.
- If you are choosing to walk your child(ren) to their specific doors, please park in the parking lot and NOT park in the drop off lane.
- Parents/Guardians are asked to remain outside of the school when dropping off and picking up students.
- Parents/Guardians who require assistance at the office are to 'ring' the door bell at the front and come directly to the school office for assistance.
- Parents/Guardians wishing to volunteer with the school are required to fill out annually our 'Volunteer Form' which can be obtained from the office.
- Parents/Guardians who need to contact their child(ren) are to call the school and we will notify the student(s).
- Parents/Guardians wishing to meet with administration or staff may reach out via email or call to make an appointment during office hours.
- Regular communication is key for all school stakeholders.
- If you require information or clarification please reach out to your child(ren)'s teachers via email or you may call and leave a message for them at the office.
- If you require assistance from the administration please feel free to communicate via email or call the school office directly.
- Please remember our children are always watching us and we expect our parents and guardians to be co-teachers with us, teaching them appropriate community relations by treating everyone with respect, compassion and kindness.
Parent Council
Parent Council is a wonderful way for parents & guardians to get involved and support our school. All parents & guardians with children registered at SKTA are welcome to join! Participating in Parent Council will allow individuals to share their voice and their talents with the school community and serve our students.
Our first Parent Council meeting will be held on Thursday, Sept. 14 at 6:30PM in person at the school, a virtual link will also be made available for individuals to participate in the meeting remotely.

Positive Morning Rituals
The mornings, especially on school days, can be hectic. When we are rushed and running around in the morning with all of our tasks, it can be stressful and doesn’t always leave time for a calm start to the day. When we begin our day in a fixed frame of mind, it can be hard to get through the day positively.
Positive morning rituals can really shift the mindset in the morning and are a great way to feel more grounded and balanced as a family. Check out Big Life Journal’s rituals for a positive morning routine below.
