The economic measures introduced by President Franklin D. Roosevelt in 1933 to counteract the effects of the Great Depression.
characteristic
FDR's economic policy and his programs became the backbone of the New Deal. This included regulation of the banks, regulation of the Stock Market, relief and public works programs, like the CCC and WPA. The New Deal focused on the three R's: Relief, Recovery, and Reform.
