Jamison Journal
April 2020
A note from Mr. Croyle
To the amazing Jamison students and parents of our school community,
We, the staff at Jamison Elementary, miss you. We were so appreciative of your video tribute, we created something for you in return. Thank you to Mrs. Moelter for putting it together! Click on the "padlet" link below.

Report Cards / Parent Conferences
Teachers have worked hard to prepare student progress reports, along with preparations for the spring parent/teacher conferences. The 2nd trimester progress reports are now available online through the Parent Portal. Conferences will take place between March 30th and April 8th.
Distance Learning
Distance Learning Plans for the Week of March 30th (summary of district email)
This week may look slightly different from the past two weeks. As previously communicated, this week will be designated for parent/teacher conferences and teacher planning. Therefore, this week’s Distance Learning activities may be limited to math and special but may include other subjects as well. You might consider also using the remainder of time to catch up on activities posted during the previous two weeks. Teachers will be conducting conferences and planning new learning for next week’s launch of Phase 2 of the CB Distance Learning Plan.

2020 - 2021 Classroom Placement
As in years past, a Classroom Placement form has been added to our website. Please read the letter carefully. If you would like to provide input regarding your child's placement for the next school year, please email it to Mrs. Bradley at lbradley@cbsd.org. Thank you.
Information from the Technology and Innovation Department
Your children are very important to us and we were so happy to help with the handout last Thursday. Thank you for all of the kind words you sent our way. We do know that some of you have been emailing for support so we are sending out a few hints.
Please read all of the items carefully.
- SeeSaw App for K-2: Students attempting to use Seesaw on a district iPad may run into issues because the Seesaw app we have installed is for in-school use. To use “at-home QR codes”, the app needs to be updated. Here are the steps for updating the app:
- Open the “Self-service” app on the iPad.
- Reinstall the Seesaw app from self-service. This will update the app and allow for at-home login.
- Logging in to the Laptop: Students will use their FULL CB email address(lastname.firstinitial###@student.cbsd.org) & password to log into the laptop. Your classroom teacher can help you with the log-in information. You can also email our support team.
- Updating Devices: To allow your computer to be completely up to date after the handout, CBSD will be sending updates to the computers that could cause a random restart. Please make sure to have autosave turned on by creating new documents through Office 365 on the web so you do not lose work.
- Device Having Issues: Restarting your computer will solve many computer issues. Please restart twice before reaching out for tech support.
- Support: Visit https://www.cbsd.org/covid and select “Technology Support”.
- For technical support, parents or students (grades 4-6 & 12th) can email techsupport@cbsd.org.
- Please follow general problem-solving strategies prior to entering a ticket & provide as much information as possible to expedite a resolution.
i. Note: We are working with over 20,000 people and trying to support many issues. Your patience is appreciated.
- Broken Hardware: We will attempt to have frequent drive through hardware support for our staff and students. In the event that device peripherals (pens, chargers, batteries, etc.) stop working or need replacement, families and staff do not need to purchase them through MyPaymentsPlus at this time. These devices can be bought directly from Amazon or a retailer of your choosing. A list of supplies can be found here: https://www.cbsd.org/Page/51509
- Return of Devices: These devices and chargers MUST be returned to the student’s school when distance learning is over. You will receive a message from your principal when it is
Thank you so much for all of your support and understanding!
Sincerely,
Jason Jaffe

If Not Me, Then Who...
A community member sent me the below information. This year, our school theme "If Not Me, Then Who..." supports the Travis Manion Foundation. According to the article, they are offering character education classes each Monday at 1:00 p.m. geared to elementary and middle school students via Facebook Live. Just a thought...if interested, please supervise your child utilizing this website.
