The Weekly Hoot
March 5-11, 2018
Greetings All -
Happy Friday all! Could we ask for any weather more gorgeous than this?? I am so ready for that bell to ring this afternoon! I am ready to hopefully work in my yard a little this weekend, go to a wedding, and just hopefully enjoy some sunshine. I hope that is not asking too much!
Next week is going to be a busy week. I appreciate how each of you are stepping up to the plate and getting the students ready for benchmarks and the real STAAR. It takes a village, and you are pulling together wonderfully. It seems like such a daunting task, but I know we will all prevail.
I hope all of you will help welcome Mrs. Pyle back to our district on a full-time basis. She did her student teaching here and has been doing some substitute teaching for us, but right now she is permanently subbing for Ms. Allgood while she is on another assignment for us in Navasota.
I know our district meeting on Wednesday was very new information to you, and if you are like me, you might have needed some time to process it before you wanted to comment on it. If you have any other feedback you would like to give to Mr. Beene, please shoot him an email or write him a note and leave it for him. He appreciates any and all comments on the subject as he and the board get ready to decide on this all important issue.
Also, please remember that voting day is Tuesday, March 6th. Please exercise your right as an American to vote! If we as educators all pull together and show up to vote, there is no stopping us!
Lastly, Lisa Lara, who never gets high-strung or ruffled about ANYTHING, came into the office this morning really frazzled and said, "I gotta go! I gotta go! I gotta go!" Look at the picture at the bottom of the Hoot and see why she had to go!! ;)
Thanks in advance for a great next 4 and a half school days. You all are truly amazing!
Love to all,
Marcy

Also, two kindergarten teachers have attributed the growth in their ESL students' scores to Raquel Thomas for the work that she is doing with them. Thank you, Mrs. Thomas, for doing whatever it takes to ensure that our students meet their best potential.
