Empathy Groups
Dear BMHS Families,
The Administrative team would like to invite you to partake in our annual empathy groups on the evening of May 22 or May 25, 2023 @ 5:30 in a virtual format. The empathy groups should last no longer than one hour. This time will provide an opportunity for your to voice your thoughts, concerns, and suggestions around engagement in our building. Our goal is to facilitate discussion around explicitly constructed questions to gather data and feedback we can act on. We will focus questions in the following areas:
· Engagement Practices
· Engagement Barriers
· Engagement Feedback for cultivating engaging environments
We ask that we all attend these groups with an open mind and honesty because your views will help us to develop next year’s school continuous improvement plan (CIP) and school goals. Your views will influence decisions in the following ways:
Feedback will be reported to the Leadership Team to inform decisions made concerning our School Continuous Improvement Plan
Inform Coaching Practices
Support and Resources offered

22 - 23 Academic All-Stars Awards and Senior Scholarship Academic Awards Night
BMHS will host our Academic All-Stars Award Ceremony for 9-11 graders on Wednesday, May 17th at 6:00 pm. The Senior Scholarship Awards Night will be held on Wednesday, May 24th at 6:00 pm. Invitations for the event will be mailed to those students receiving awards this year.
Important Date for Seniors!
- May 18th - CAP DECORATING- 3:30pm-7pm- The Senior Class is hosting a FREE Grad Cap decorating Knight. We will supply materials to decorate your caps, the tools to do it and some assistance. You can bring some of your own items too and just come for the fun and snacks. The event is FREE and only for Seniors. This will be held in E105.
- May 20th- SENIOR SIX FLAGS TRIP- Please make sure to get your permission slip from Academic Affairs and turn it in with your money by the 20th!
- May 24th- SENIOR AWARDS-Those that receive awards will get an invitation in the mail prior to the event
- June 5th- SENIOR EXAMS
- June 6th- SENIOR EXAMS
- June 6th - SENIOR CHROMEBOOKS, CHARGERS, AND CASES - seniors can drop off items to Ms. Cunningham in the Library once they're no longer needed for assignments or exams.
- June 7th- VICTORY TOUR from 8:30am-10:30am. Make sure to fill out your form to let us know which side of town you want to visit.
- June 9th- SENIOR GRADES DUE at 8:00am and all credit recovery must be completed
- June 9th- SENIOR CHROMEBOOKS, CHARGERS, AND CASES - any items not returned previously must be brought to GRADUATION PRACTICE to avoid fees.
- June 9th- GRADUATION PRACTICE- in the Fieldhouse at 8:30am. This is REQUIRED for all seniors and typically lasts for 90 minutes. Everyone is allowed to decorate their caps for graduation. If you do decide to decorate your cap, please bring it with you to practice to get approved. All decorations have to be school appropriate. Only school provided cords and stoles can be worn during the graduation ceremony.
- June 10th- GRADUATION- All seniors must report to the Fieldhouse by 8:30am. If the ceremony is outside then tickets are not required for friends and families, there is no limit. If there is bad weather, the ceremony will be in the Barkin Arena and each graduate will have 4 tickets for guests. Tickets will be given out during graduation practice.
Library Books and Senior Technology Reminders
Books, Books Books! Senior Technology (Chromebook, Charger, Case)
Thursday, June 1st - all library books are due back to the library
Tuesday, June 6th - seniors can drop off student technology items to Ms. Cunningham in the Library once they're no longer needed for assignments or exams

GRADUATION 2023
June 10, 2023 - 10:00 am Jacobsen Field
As the end of the school year rapidly approaches, so does graduation.
- If the ceremony is outside then tickets are not required for friends and families, there is no limit. However If there is bad weather, the ceremony will be in the Barkin Arena and each graduate will have 4 tickets only for guests.
- The graduation tickets will be handed out at graduation practice on Friday, June 9. Tickets will only be distributed at the mandatory graduation practice and not prior.
- Seniors please take 5 minutes to complete this senior survey if you have not already completed it. Remember you must use your School District Email to complete the survey. If you complete it by Friday, May 12 at 3:30 pm, your name will be entered into a raffle to receive one of five $20 Kwik Trip gift cards. If you miss that deadline, we still need you to complete the form. To ensure completion by each and every member of the Class of 2023, we will hold your graduation tickets on the day of graduation practice until you complete the survey. One question does ask you to provide the name of the college you are attending (if you are choosing to attend college). If you do not know what college you will attend, you can still submit the survey now. We do ask that you go back into the survey and edit that question when you do decide on a college. I appreciate your time and effort in completing this senior survey. Your feedback is important!
Summer School 2023
Online and in-person registration for Summer School is now open!
Are you needing credit recovery to get back on track, would like to take a course to get ahead, or want to take an enrichment class for no credit. Then please join us for Summer School. The Location: Aldrich Intermediate. The Dates: Tuesday, June 20 to Friday, July 28. There will be no classes on July 3rd, 4th, and 10th. The time: 8:00 - Noon. Registration is now open! Once registered by a parent/guardian through Skyward Family Access students can be registered for a course. The Courses: We encourage you to meet with your counselor to decide which courses you need to take for credit recovery to get back on track. Students can enroll in courses in Skyward.
You can access our Summer School website for the link to register your student on Skyward and view the summer school guide on Friday, April 28. If you need assistance to register your student, you can visit our Central Enrollment office at the Kolak Education Center (1500 Fourth St.).
