Enrollment Contract News

Contracts for currently enrolled families are going home today in back pack mail with the youngest student of your household. Keep your eyes peeled for that purple paper. We've made a significant change to this year's contract. We've updated the verbiage and created space for up to four (4) students to be covered under just one contract. Most families will need to return just one contract. If you share custody and/or financial responsibility with another parent/household, you will receive separate contracts.

* Important Reminders *

Contracts due FEB. 12 to qualify for the Early Bird Special

$150 seat deposit per child due with contract

$30 activity fee per child is not due now -

it will be billed to your student account or due with payment Plan A on July 15

Enrollment for new students opens on March 1. Many classes are at or near capacity - be sure to reserve your spot then tell your friends and neighbors!

Questions? Please email Jennifer Nordenson at jnordenson@bjams.org.

CSW starts on Monday by dressing Uniquely You!

On Tuesday we're having a giant sledding party! Send your student with a sled, snow tube, toboggan, or snow saucer. The more the merrier!

The rest of the schedule is in the PDF attached below.

COVID-19 Communication

If your student is a "close contact" or exposed to COVID-19, determining when he or she can return to school safely is very important! It starts with you communicating the date of possible exposure. From there, we follow the algorithm laid out by the VT Dept. of Health. This is what our communication will look like:

Date of Possible Exposure - known as "Day 0" - start counting from the following day

Dates of Quarantine - starts at Day 1 and goes until Day 14

Date of Earliest Possible Test - Day 7 (PCR test only - rapid tests are not acceptable)

Date of Return With a Test - Upon receipt of negative test result (must provide a copy of results)

Date of Return Without a Test - Day 15 (must be symptom free)

This timeline is depicted in the graphic below.

Big picture

Congratulations, Rosalee Howell!

Each year more than 165,400 students in grades 6-8 enter the VFW’s Patriot’s Pen youth essay contest. The contest encourages young minds to examine America’s history, along with their own experiences in modern American society, by drafting an essay, expressing their views based on a patriotic theme chosen by the VFW Commander-in-Chief.

We're so excited to announce that Rosalee Howell (7th grade) placed 1st at the Post Level (Lamoille County VFW Post 9653) and was just recently awarded 2nd place at the state level (VFW Department of Vermont). Recently a private ceremony was held at the Post in Morrisville honoring Rosalee, where she shared her essay and accepted her award. We are so proud of Rosalee.

Citrus Sale! Get Your Oranges and Grapefruit, here!

Flyers will be posted and going home next week. The 8th grade will be taking orders for great citrus fruit to get you through the cold winter days. Keep your spirits and Vitamin C levels up and help fund the 8th Grade class trip in the Spring.

How sweet of you!

A special thanks to the Flanagan Family for donating maple syrup to our kitchen.
