Jessica received the following comment from a student: "She cares and wants to help you go further as an individual no matter what it looks like"
Great job, Jessica!
Jessica got a second comment from another student: "Mrs. Lecertua has always been really supportive of me and is always there to talk. Shes so kind and understanding and shes a really great listener. She helps me see the perspective of others and understand why things happen, while still being gentle and supportive. I wanna be like her when I grow up. Thank you Mrs. Lecertua, you are what every person should strive to be!"
An LC shared the following comment about Deslynn: "Deslynn has been fantastic to work with – she has been prompt and kind to the student and the LC very much appreciates it."
A student wrote the following in a scholarship application: "I didn’t know much about how to become a paramedic, when I brought it up in my senior project presentation my teachers got me in contact with some helpful resources. Jennifer Edwards has been an amazing help to me and my education after high school. I had no idea where to start when it came to college, she helped answer all the questions I had.”
Way to go, Jennifer!
Congratulations go to Heidi for being selected to participate in the K12 Grow Emerging Leaders Program.
You're going to do awesome, Heidi!
Cassidy and Colleen got a shout out form Jenny for being so helpful in adding the graduation slide show to music. Jenny said the video is great.
Good job, Cassidy!
SSS Department Trivia
Week 6 of Round 3 - Who am I?
WHO AM I? "“I lived in the same town as John Gotti the infamous Mob boss in NYC."
The answer is Heidi Arratte!
Desylnn got this correct!
Pam - 2
Deslynn - 1
Jessica - 1
Loretta - 1
Jesse - 1
Bev - 1
Here is what Heidi has to say about this story:
When I was 18 I wanted to see the world and quite frankly Boise Idaho was not cutting it! I wanted to experience different cultures and people. After a dismal first year of college, I decided to pack my bags and move to New York. I was hired by a family who placed an advertisement in the paper to watch their 2 children. Little did I know, it was cheaper to fly out a kid from Idaho, put a bed in the living room than send your kids to daycare. I didn’t care though because I was finally surrounded by different cultures, sounds, food and people. It was exciting for me to experience NYC as a young person. I went to a couple museums, saw a play on Broadway, ate amazing food and hung out with “mobsters” in Queens. After a short time, my family moved to Five Towns area of Long Island, where John Gotti lived. Of course, we were not neighbors, but I did see his house a few times, driving past quickly. The Mob is not something you mess with!
WHO AM I? "I text quite often back and forth with one of the 2nd place winners from the Voice.""
Share something about you that your colleagues may not know and you would feel comfortable with them knowing. We will include this as a question in a future roadmap.
Answer the question by adding a text box on the slide. Be sure to add your name to the answer.
Here are our teammates' answers from last week..

Student End of Year Reclamations
Reclamation information and return labels will start going out to all current families on 5/16. They will receive an email with the information, and a mailed packet will follow. All the information the family needs should be included in the email/packet. Please see below for some important points of reclamations:
- Families should only return hardware if the student is not returning next year. If they are returning for SY 19-20, they need to keep their computer. (NOTE: If a computer is returned, but the student continues for the 19-20 SY, a new computer will not automatically ship).
- Family should refer to materials information sent with the labels to know which materials need to be returned.
- Materials should be returned after completion of the course. If a student will be continuing in a course for next school year, they should keep the materials until they are completely finished with the course, or, if the student is retaking a course, they should keep the materials. Materials for continuing or repeated courses will not automatically ship if they’ve already been sent.
Resources for families
If a family needs additional labels above what they receive with the reclamation packets, they can request them from help.k12.com > Request Return Labels (listed under the IMPORTANT INFORMATION header on the right side of the page).
