2020-21 Instructional Calendar Board REVISED due to COVID (Posted 08/04/2020) (PDF)
September 21, 2020
Dear Alamo Families,
Thank you for your partnership in our important work to make remote learning the best that it can be while planning for a future return to in-person learning for those who choose that option. I know you have many unanswered questions as we wait for more news to guide your choice between fully remote and hybrid, in-person learning should Contra Costa move to the Substantial (red) tier.
Current information about our reopening plan is available in the SRVUSD Guide to Reopening posted on our website. This document will be updated regularly as new information becomes available.
Remember that we have information pertinent to the current planning phase for a projected return to in-person learning: Parent Survey Remote Learning. Although the survey requires your child's name and student ID, it is not your final decision. Your response to this survey will help inform the Board to determine the next steps at their meeting on September 29. We need to know your preference for your child: return to in-person hybrid learning as soon as possible; learn remotely for the remainder of the school year; either remote or in-person as long as your child keeps the same teacher; or still unsure. Additionally, do you prefer to attend all day, 2-3 times per week (cohort A/B model), or attend half-day, AM/PM, 4-5 days per week? Please complete the survey as soon as possible. If you want to modify your submission, email COMMUNICATIONS@SRVUSD.NET with your changes. Staff will also be surveyed for their preference on the same items (replace child with students).
Answers to your questions about when might in-person learning begin, details about the hybrid schedule, details about the health and safety strategies, and possible teacher assignment changes will be decided in the appropriate timeline points: Board Decision, Parent Declarations, Teacher Declarations, 2 Weeks After County Moves to "RED" Status.
As Dr. Malloy requested in his video message to the community, please contact me and not the district office with any questions you may have to provide a timely reply.
We're all in it together!
Yours truly,
Mrs. Salazar

This year will be one for the books, our yearbook that is! We think it is safe to say, there won’t be another year quite like this. Distance learning, quarantines, and crazy weather and we’ll be working hard to capture these unprecedented times in your student’s yearbook to remember for years to come. Because of our current limitations, we expect the yearbook to be smaller and simpler this year. We hope to make something memorable to mark the year and to keep this Alamo Elementary tradition alive! Don’t wait to order your student’s copy of the Alamo Elementary yearbook! Yearbooks are only $20 and can be ordered online today!
