“The Best in the U.S.A”
I left this paragraph recognizing Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. off of the English version of last week's newsletter. It was included in the Spanish version, but I wanted to make sure that I updated last week's English version. Here is the paragraph:
Happy Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day! I hope everyone takes time to reflect on the advances that minorities have made over the last 60 years. Although there have been many improvements, they can only endure if we continue to stay engaged by actively participating in our democracy.

I always tell the Brothers that they are only competing against themselves. I ask them to to look in the mirror each day and reflect on how they can improve. We talk about setting goals and getting better every day. Please continue to work with your sons to ensure they are holding themselves accountable to the goals they have set for attendance, academics and behavior.
Excuses don't exist!
Parent conferences will be next Tuesday (01/24/23) at 5:00 p.m. These will be brief discussions to hand out report cards. If you would like to have a longer conference, please call or email your son's teacher to schedule a meeting.
In an effort to increase campus safety, all students will need to wear their badges. They will have to show their badges when they enter the building. All students were given a badge. Students can purchase a temporary badge for $1.00 or a replacement badge for $5.00.
The first round of the application for the 2023-2024 school year closes January 31st. We are off to a great start this recruiting season. Thank you for all your support!
Thank you!
Please remind your sons to bring their fully charged laptops to school each day.
We all appreciate you for trusting us with the safety and education of your sons!
Please take a look at the arrival and dismissal procedures below. In the interest of safety, the parents should only pick up and drop off on the west side of the building. The buses, students and staff will use the east side.
The school day begins every morning promptly at 8:50 am. Each morning the entire school meets together in the auditorium. We use this time to reinforce the expectations and values that make the BOMLA experience special and impactful.

The uniform providers are listed below. All Brothers are required to wear the full uniform. We will be flexible for the first few weeks while parents wait for the uniform orders to be completed. If your son does not have the full uniform, please send him in dress pants, a dress shirt and a tie.
All Dallas ISD students in the 6th - 12th grade are required to use clear or mesh bags. BOMLA Brothers can still bring their lunch bags. Brothers must also use a clear bag for the uniforms for gym.
Please let me know if you have any questions!
This year's theme is "Impact Today!" We will emphasize the importance of maximizing every opportunity to make a positive impact at school, at home, and in the community.
The school day begins at 8:50 am. We dismiss at 4:35 pm.
The doors will open promptly at 8:15 am.
All students will have to have a clear or a mesh backpack. The school will provide each student with one free backpack.
All bags that are not clear or mesh will be kept in the office until a parent comes to pick it up.
As always please call, email, or stop by if you have any questions!
Thank you all!
Building Hours - The building will open at 8:15 am. The students will be dismissed by 4:35 pm.
