Arkansas Alpha Delta Kappa
October 2019
Dear Sisters,
Happy Alpha Delta Kappa Month!
72 years ago, Agnes Robertson set out to start something empowering to women educators. She was relentless in her fervor, and undeterred in her goals. Thank you, Agnes, you set us on the path of leadership, fellowship, professionalism and altruism. Let us not forget our legacy, our challenge to change and empower women of today, with our own fervor and determination. I challenge all of you to be just like Agnes was some 72 years ago. I am looking forward to visiting three Founder’s Day events this month. I will be in Little Rock on Oct 7th with Alpha, Tau, Alpha Psi, and Alpha Mu chapters; Oct 14th in Fayetteville with Delta; and Oct 21st in West Memphis with Alpha Rho. I wish you a happy fall, hopefully it will finally cool down. Thank you to all who have sent me your yearbooks and minutes so that I can read about what is going on with your chapters.

State Altruistic Project
We are still collecting donations for the Ronald McDonald House “Heart as a Legacy of Hope” in Little Rock. Any money left after the heart is purchased will go to the Arkoma Ronald McDonald Houses in Fayetteville, Rogers, and Fort Smith. We have already collected $1,780.00. The Little Rock Heart costs $1,000.00, so we are working toward donations to the other Ronald McDonald Houses now. Awesome sisters!!!!

ATTENTION HISTORIANS by Patty Snipes, State Historian
As Historians I hope you’ve been taking lots of pictures of your chapter. I am working on the archives for our State President, Chanetta Case. She would like to have a page or two representing your chapter. I have given you a sample of a design. I used PowerPoint which would be fine for you to use unless you have another program you are comfortable with.
Be sure to include: list of officers, picture of your group, picture of your officers, pictures of some of your meetings or pictures of doing Altruistic projects.
3 options to send them:
1. If you are not comfortable with PowerPoint or using a computer and would rather create a page on scrapbook paper you can mail it to me. 8 ½ x 11.
Patty Snipes, 120 Taylor Park Loop, LR, AR, 72211
2. You can mail me the pictures with captions or names attached.
3. Email information to me – plsnipes@sbcglobal.net
Please get this to me ASAP or at least by January. Start planning what you want on the page to represent your chapter.
Did you know?
Pam Coyne our Fraternity Education Committee Chair shared this at the September Board meeting.
Fraternal or Fraternity Education? Answer: Fraternity Education
Fraternal means "love" and we "love" our fraternal organization; Fraternity Education is "learning about" our fraternal organization that we "love" so dearly.
