Klem South Penguin Press
September 2023
Welcome to the 2023-2024 School Year!
Dear Klem South Families,
We are thrilled to be starting the school year and welcoming back our amazing Klem South penguins! Summers fly by and the start of the school year can be met with a mix of emotions. As you ease into new routines, please remember that we are here to support and work with you. All of our staff have been busy preparing for the this year but the building just isn't the same without kids in it!
If you are new to Klem South, welcome! Each month, I will share a Klem South Penguin Press with you via Parent Square. This monthly newsletter will be filled with important dates, reminders and information about our school and events. Please look for this communication at the beginning of each month.
This year, our school has a theme centered around growth! We are excited to grow as professionals and help our students grow and thrive socially, emotionally and academically. Helping our students grow is a TEAM effort and we recognize that we cannot do this work without your continued partnership. By the end of this school year, we want to see our overall attendance improve. Our goal is for all Klem South students to attend at least 95% of the school year. We need kids here on time and ready to learn each day. Our school day begins at 7:50 AM. Our doors will close at 8:00 AM and announcements will begin right at 8:05 AM. It is imperative that our students are here on time so we can help them start their days off on the right foot. Please know that the arrival times on the first few days of school are a bit delayed. :) The UPK arrival time begins at 8:15 AM.
Please make sure the PikMyKid App reflects your child's dismissal plan. Classroom teachers will use this program to check and see where you child goes in the afternoon. All changes need to be made in the app before 12 PM.
Transportation schedules are available in the parent portal in Infinite Campus.
So much information! We hope we didn't overwhelm you. Any questions, just call! 872-2124.
Sincerely,
Martha End, Stephen MacAdam and the Klem South Team
Don't forget to download the Pikmykid App!
