Dear Parents / Carers,
At last it has stopped raining and the children have been able to get outside again without getting wet! It makes such a difference especially whilst we are still bubble-bound with staggered breaks and space is at a premium. It will be lovely if the weather lasts over half term and I hope you will be able to enjoy it.
Thank you for your emails regarding the uniform changes. To clarify, we are not expecting everyone to go out and start from scratch with a new uniform from September. If you have current uniform or uniform handed down from older siblings it will be absolutely fine to continue to wear it. Then as you need to replace it in future, we would ask that you go with the new uniform at that point. The main issue seems to be black trousers and skirts and the intention here was to match the black PE joggers. If dark grey is easier, that will be fine.
I would also just like to clarify the rules around continued home learning. If your child needs to self isolate due to a parent or sibling with covid symptoms or a positive test but is still well in themself, then we can issue them with home learning. If your child is absent from school with any other form of illness that means they are too unwell to come to school, then they should be resting and recuperating until they are fit enough to return and school work will not be sent home.
Finally, as restrictions are beginning to be lifted nationally I'm sure you will be wondering about the usual end of year events such a s sports day etc. Schools have been given very little additional information and currently our guidance remains the same as it has been since Easter. Whilst we are planning events in the background, I will only be able to share information once we have had confirmation both from the DfE and the MAT that events can go ahead safely.
Thank you for your continued understanding. I hope you have a lovely half term.

Eco Schools
After half term we will be relaunching eco schools and starting to work towards the bronze award. As part of eco schools we need to set up an eco-committee which will comprise of 2 representatives from each class. If your child is interested in being selected for the eco-committee they need to write a letter to me outlining why they should be selected. Obviously I am more than happy for you to support your child accordingly.
I will let you know more about eco schools and the eco-committee during next half term.

Staff Thank You's
If anyone would like to say thank you to or has any positive comments for a member of staff then please complete and submit the form below.
Another holiday is upon us, another school term is done, and no doubt we are all thankful that some form of normality is starting to return and long may it continue. Friends is looking ahead and hosting its AGM next term and it is time to put a call out for new members, new ideas and support so that fundraising and activities can begin once more. Below is a brief description of the roles that are held within Friends and as previously advised the majority of the committee will be standing down. Friends will need new bodies on board in order to continue their role in the school community so if you can help and want to be involved, please do get in touch with Us.
If you would like to join Friends, please speak to one of the committee members, come along to our the next AGM meeting (via Zoom) or email us on friends@kf.starmat.uk. We also have a Facebook page that you can follow and use to message Friends on. We look forward to hearing from you.
Teamwork divides the task and multiplies the success
Wishing you all a happy half term holiday
