Wake Up Willard Announcements
Breakfast & Lunch Meal Service Available
Did you know that our LCPS School Nutrition Services department served 1,529,569 from March 13 to September 3 to our community students? This effort to support and nourish our community will continue here at Willard. Monday through Friday, from 11:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m., students will be able to come to the cafeteria side entrance at Willard to pick up both breakfast and lunch free of charge for any student under the age of 18. We are thankful for our cafeteria staff, led by Raheela Rana, for their amazing work!
MAP Testing Coming Soon!
LCPS is invested in helping students access rigorous instruction during the 2020-2021 school year; therefore, identifying students’ instructional readiness levels as early as possible is an essential requirement. Willard Middle School will be administering NWEA’s MAP Reading and Math Growth assessments to students. In doing so, please note the specifics below as well as the schedule visual.
Each student’s teacher will be sending an email with specific Google Meets for the test administration and log in information. They will also provide contact information for technical assistance during testing.
If your child has an IEP, 504, or EL Plan with testing accommodations that can be delivered via the remote, online MAP administration, your child’s Case Manager or EL Teacher will also email you with information on how that accommodation will be implemented.
If you do not wish for your child to participate in one or both of the assessments, please fill out this form with your decision no later than Friday, September 25.
We anticipate sharing the results of your child’s test with you no later than November 1.
Please feel free to click the following link for more information and important notes.
Latin Materials Pick Up
Music Instrument Pick Up
We are excited to announce that on Monday, September 14, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., music students who have rented instruments from either the school (LCPS) or Washington Music Center may pick them up at Willard. Please note the following:
Before Arriving at Willard (Car Window Sign): Parents should place a sign in their window with the first and last name of their child/children. In addition, include the grade of the student/students. Please write the information large enough to be seen from a distance.
Curbside Pick Up (Bus Loop): Parents will enter the bus loop where music teachers will be stationed for pick up. Using the properly labeled car window sign, Willard staff will bring out the instrument(s) for the student(s). We will place items in the trunk of the vehicle. Parents and passengers should not exit the vehicle. Once items have been received, you are welcome to leave the bus loop area.
