Pleasant Valley Family Newsletter
October 9, 2020
Our mission is to empower and inspire a community of lifelong learners and leaders!
Hello Pleasant Valley Families,
Getting back into a routine can be difficult; however, our learners and staff have made these last two weeks a terrific transition from distance learning to our hybrid learning schedule!
Communication with your child's teacher(s) is vital to your child’s success. As we continue into this first quarter of the school year and throughout the year, be sure to contact your child’s teacher immediately if you have any questions or concerns regarding their progress. All of our teachers can be reached through email or the Remind app, a text-like service for our parents' convenience.
If you hear something from your child that doesn’t seem right, check with your child’s teacher immediately. Should safety ever be compromised in any way, I will promptly notify all families. Creating a safe, orderly, and healthy learning environment is critical to educating and preparing our learners to achieve their highest potential. The safety of your children will always be at the forefront. We have a very dedicated staff who work hard to ensure that your child is welcomed and dismissed each day safely.
Please complete your child's Annual Refresh Form if you have not done so. Providing and updating our learners' parents and guardians' contact information is crucial for regular and emergency communication. If you do not have a "Snapcode," please contact the PV office at (440) 885-2380 ASAP.
Please be patient and mindful when picking up your child from school. Please follow the procedures:
- Place the color paper on your dashboard so that we can quickly identify who you are picking up.
- Wait and stay inside your car.
- Children should get out and in the car from the side of the car near the school building! This is the SAFEST SIDE for your child!
If your child cannot buckle themselves in their seats, please, have your children practice buckling and unbuckling themselves every time they are in the car so that our youngest learners can become independent, getting into and out of cars.
Below is next week's Hybrid Learning Schedule:
Week of 10.12.2020 In-person Hybrid Schedule*

Packet Pick-up (Mondays 9-5)
Packets of work will be distributed to families who have been contacted by their child’s teacher. Parents may report to the main entrance of Pleasant Valley Elementary on Mondays between the hours of 9:00am and 5:00pm to pick up packets. Not all teachers will have packets to hand out weekly as the expectation is for most of the work to be done through Google Classroom. Also, as we start HYBRID, students who are not in PVLA will be in the building, therefore, teachers should be giving students any printed materials or supplies needed on the days those students are attending in-person.
Stay Connected
Please reach out to your child's teacher, home liaisons, or PVs administrative team if you have any concerns or questions. We know you are our learners' first and most important teachers and thank you for your partnership with Pleasant Valley!
