Communicating in the 21st Century
I have had a long standing goal to provide families with ongoing updated about their student's learning in the 21st century. I have tried in-present workshops and more digital options of recording what we share. It seems that the digital route seems to be the most accessible for all. I am hoping that these podcasts provide easy-to-access information at their fingertips.
Here is the format we will follow for each podcast:
- Podcast posted
- Google form included so that families can ask follow-up and clarifying questions.
- A live chat about a week later
All will be shared via email, posted under the Parent Resources Tab on our Manning website, and shared via Manning's Facebook page.

A great conversation with Manning parent, Angie Steketee. We want feedback, so please fill out the form after listening.
Interpreting our Report Cards in the 2.0 version
- We have only included standards that are assessed to mastery on the report card. We absolutely teach all standards but as we move to this new method of reporting, we have to be intentional in each step.
- We have moved from NA (not assessed) - to shading on the report card if a standard is not assessed to mastery yet.
- The descriptors for each standard will not be on the actual report card. Save this document as a reference to what a 3,2,1 means for each standard.
- Essential standards (most important standards) are marked with an *.
