2021 Theme: Simply the BEST...Students, Families, Staff
Principal's Message
This week was "Simply the Best Week Ever". Our students and families came together as a community, raising over $6000 from our Blair Mill Fun Run! As a school community, we enjoyed a beautiful day outside running through our obstacle course. A special thank you to Ms. Pace and Ms. Bailkin for all of their hard work in coordinating the Fun Run. An additional thank you to all of the Blair Mill parents who volunteered on that day and to Mrs. Augustine who spearheaded our fundraising efforts and found Pumpkin the Pig!
Finally, the best part of my week was "KISSING THE PIG!" Being a farm girl at heart, I admit this is not the first pig I've kissed, but most importantly the children had a lot of fun watching. Check out our Fun Run Video below.
This week, classroom book character pumpkins will be displayed all week and we look forward to our Halloween Party, Parade, and Bash.

Have a wonderful weekend! Stay safe, happy and healthy!

Volunteer Shout Out! - Beth Augustine and Beth Mofta
At Blair Mill we recognize the importance of our partnerships with families and the amazing volunteers who lead and support our school programming.
A special thank you this week to Beth Augustine who coordinated our FUN RUN Fundraiser. As mentioned, we raised over $6000 for our school programming, and the children had a wonderful time. Thank you to Beth Mofta for helping to set up and spending the day lifting children over the wall and running the obstacle course. Thank you for all of the hours it took to pull together the FUN RUN! Our kiddos love you!
Halloween Parade and Party
We will have a Halloween Parade and Party on October 29, 2021 at 2:30 PM.
Important Details Below
- All other parent visitors are welcome to view the parade from the perimeter of the playground at 2:30 PM.
- Following the parade, there will be a party in the classroom which will include a prepackaged, store bought light snack, a game, and craft.
- There will be two homeroom parents who join each class for their party. They have already been contacted through the HSA and by the teacher. Homeroom parents are the parents who join the class and facilitate the party in the classroom. They set up and assist with the party and can arrive at 2:15PM. A volunteer badge and a copy of vaccination status or proof of a negative test within 48 hours of the party shared with the school nurse are required in order for the selected homeroom parents to volunteer in the classroom.
- If you wish to contribute in some way to the party, please reach out to the lead homeroom parent directly.
- A check-in table will be placed at the main entrance for homeroom parents to check in. Volunteers may go to the main entrance to drop off any supplies, and staff members will be available to assist you.
- All Health and Safety protocols will be followed for the party.
Costumes
Please remember that all costumes need to be appropriate for an elementary school setting. No face paint, hair dye or weapons should be brought to school as part of a costume. Thank you for helping us make this event fun and safe for everyone. When choosing a costume, please buy a size larger or dress your child so that the costume can be easily slipped on over the student's existing clothing.
Please do not have your child wear their costume to school. Instead, have your child bring his/her Halloween costume in a bag labeled with his/her name. Make sure that the costume does not include any plastic knives, guns, swords, etc. as they are not allowed on school property.
