Definition of cultural diffusion
Cultural diffusion is the process through which the ideas of a particular cultural are spread and diffused through an area beyond the culture who came up with the idea.
Examples of cultural diffusion
1. Buddhism was started in India, but spread throughout Asia.
2. The popularity of enchiladas and soccer show there's a cultural diffusion from Latin America to the United States.
Definition of cultural convergence
The growing similarity between national cultures, including the beliefs, values, aspirations, and the preferences of consumers, partly driven by global brands, media, and common global icons.
Examples of cultural convergence
1. There's a Chinese restaurant in almost every American town.
2. There are some taco bells in India.
