Mill Creek Pink Sale
- Mill Creek wears pink to honor the life of librarian Beverly Keegan who passed away from breast cancer in September 2012. Mrs. Keegan was a force of love to the teachers, students, and families of the Mill Creek Community. Her humor, spirit, and the way she connected with others fostered a love of reading to hundreds of children throughout her time at Mill Creek. We thank you for continuing to celebrate her life and all she contributed to Mill Creek. All proceeds from the apparel sale will be donated to her daughter through Molly Keegan’s Scholarship Fund. As Mrs. Keegan would say, “Love Wins.” Any questions about sizing or orders, please reach out to Tonya Nghiem tmk79@aol.com

Principal's Post - A Weekly Note From Mr. Ortman
Just a friendly reminder that student drop off begins at 8:15AM and our school day begins at 8:35AM. If you arrive at school after 8:35AM please make sure to bring your child into the main office to sign in. Also, all visitors are expected to sign in at the main office. Don't forget your photo ID.
Our dismissal begins at 3:15PM. Student car riders will be dismissed first. For the safety of our students, please use our car rider line to pick up students. We want all students to be safe, and having students walk to parked cars is not a safe way to dismiss. If you are picking up your child as a car rider and would like get out of your vehicle to meet your child as they are coming out of the building, please park in one of the legal parking spaces and walk up to meet your child on the sidewalk. We appreciate your cooperation in keeping all of our students safe!
Sincerely,
Mr. Shawn OrtmanPrincipal

Happy Friday Creekers!
Last year our PEN students hosted a school bingo to raise money for various causes. One initiative was to purchase bottle fillers for Mill Creek, in an effort to be more ecofriendly! Our Home and School Association helped with this cause, and over the summer we had three water bottle fillers installed at The Creek. They are located by the cafeteria, near the 1st and 2nd grade hallway, and at the top of stairwell. A big thank you to our PEN students and our Home and School Association for making this possible.
We hope that our students will bring reusable water bottles to school to use with our new filler stations!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Amy Adelman

News from The Art Room
Dear Parents, Guardians, and Students,
Hope everyone had a great summer and are ready for an exciting year in art class!!
Please assume that each week we will be using messy materials in art class, so do not wear best clothing. Students should bring a smock or old t-shirt to store in their teacher’s room for art days. All students are to bring their own pencils to art class.
All 4th, 5th and 6th graders are required to have a small (9”x12”) sketchbook. The sketchbooks are used for note taking; project planning and sketchbook assignments as well as free drawing. Not required, but recommended is for 1st – 3rd grade to have sketchbooks as well. The one sketchbook can be used from year to year, and it will become a great record of progress!
Throughout the year we will be working on many new and exciting projects! I do my best to return projects in a timely manner, but please be aware that I may be saving artwork for a school or community display.
Looking forward to a wonderful year!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Schubert
