Principal's Message
Hello to all Washington families! Here are a few things so you stay in the know:
~ Substitute Teaching: Have you ever thought about lending your skills in a much-needed way and giving substitute teaching a try??? Are you interested in making an extra $200 a day??
Our sub pool is quite limited this year, and we are on the hunt for interested individuals to consider this opportunity. A 4-year Bachelor's Degree is required, and you would need to obtain a substitute license, but we can help with that process. AND...if you only wanted to sub here at Washington, and nowhere else, we could help to support this.
This is a no obligation form--please consider opening it up and filling it out (no obligation we promise!!!!). We are trying to gather information from interested individuals and will follow up with next steps. In the coming months, we plan to host an informational session and support time to complete the state substitute licensure application, background check, and district substitute license application. We want to make this as easy as possible to navigate the application process- we are here to help!
~ Be looking for an email this week about finding out your child's teacher. We have many things to finalize, and once we complete that and roster students, then we will notify families that they can go into the portal and find out this information. Signing up for conferences will also be coming soon, so be looking for that information as well.
~ School Pictures will be taken at Entrance Conferences, which are scheduled for Tuesday, September 6 (8:00am - 6:30pm) and Wednesday, September 7 (8:00am-12:00pm).
.
~ School Supply List can be found here.
~ Volunteering: Have you thought about offering to volunteer at school? We are in need of volunteers to read with students on a consistent, yet flexible, basis. We will work with your schedule. We are also in need of volunteers who would be willing to help with a telebinocular vision screening that we do with students early on in the school year. This volunteer opportunity would happen right away in the fall and be finished as early as October or as late as November depending on the number of volunteers. We can work with your schedule but screening is best done in the AM.
If either of these volunteer opportunities interest you, please email Connie Long at clong1@isd77.org and she'll help make it happen! Thank you for considering both of these opportunities!
Have a great week!
