One Week Down and in the Books!

We have had a fantastic start to the year! This is a great group of 5th graders and we are so excited to watch them grow this year. We, the teachers, spent time this week with students who aren't in our homeroom or switch class in an effort to get to get to know all the students. We are still get names with faces, but love hearing about what they like and getting to know their personalities.

First Official Celebrate Smith - AUGUST 24

Tomorrow we will be our first official Celebrate Smith! Students should plan on arriving before 7:40. Classes will head to the cafe at 7:40. Parents are invited to attend Celebrate Smith which will begin at 7:50 and last 25-40 minutes. If you are new to Smith, Celebrate Smith is our Weekly assembly in the cafeteria.

You may preregister online before 2:00 on Thursdays and your badge will be ready for you for you Friday morning. If you have not yet scanned your drivers license this year, you will need to do that at school. Here is the link to preregister https://goo.gl/Oshd0H

Dismissal Procedures

Last week you received two orange signs whith your child's Name on them for drive up dismissal. Please have the orange car sign on the rear view mirror or window of your car as you drive through the car loop We hope this will make the line move more efficiently.

We would also like to remind you that upon leaving the loop, you must turn right only. Waiting to go straight holds up the line. Going left and driving the wrong way to get around cars is dangerous and of course illegal.

Thank you for your patience and assistance.

Class T-shirts

At Meet the Teacher, most of you filled out the t-shirt order form. You can hop on www.mypaymentsplus.com to pay online, or you can send in $9.00 cash or check. If you did not leave the form with your child's size at Meet the Teacher, please send it in. Thank you!
