Google Slides Text Message Template
This template/activity can be used to help students recognize both sides of an argument, have structured conversations about a text, describe character traits, and more. There are websites out there that let you build and share fake text messages, but this template can be used as well with no worries about ads popping up. Included in this Smore are both a link to the empty phone frame template and a demo video explaining how I made the "text messages."

Canvas Corner
Canvas in Post K-12
Real talk: Free tools like Google Classroom and Edmodo are available, but, we know they will not be the learning platform for our students who are moving on to post-secondary schools. Canvas is being used by 2 year and 4 year universities all across the United States and Texas. (Canvas overtook Blackboard as the leading LMS in June 2018.)
Take a look at the list and image below and think about this--are you leveraging Canvas (or any LMS) in a way that helps prepare your kids for a post-secondary school experience?
In each LEISD Digital LEarning Newsletter we will include three education-related people or groups we follow on Twitter. We welcome you to follow them as well and grow your PLN (Personal Learning Network)!
