School Council Nomination and Election Update
Hello Evansdale Families. Are you interested in helping decide the future of Evansdale? School Council is currently accepting nominations of parents or guardians who are interested in being on Evansdale’s School Council. There are currently 4 open parent positions. The Evansdale School Council's main objective is to work closely with the principal and teachers to make important decisions for the school - these may include diversity, academics, building issues, and communications.
Nominations should include a paragraph with biographical information and reason(s) why the nominee would make a good parent representative. It is optional to include a current photo.
All terms are two years, but parents of 5th graders are eligible to serve for a one year term. The term will start on October 1st, 2017 and will end on September 30th, 2019. Meetings are at 5pm on the first Tuesday of every month during the school year.
The nomination period will run from today until Friday, August 25th at 6:30pm. All nominations must be submitted during this time period. Please submit all nominations to Evansdale’s principal, Luci Chattman stephanie_chattman@dekalbschoolsga.org with “School Council Nomination” in the subject.
Nominations will be posted on Monday, August 28th and will be sent electronically that week.
Voting will take place in the front lobby at the following times (these times have been updated):

to read.
Our Scholastic Book Fair is a reading event that brings the books kids want to read right into our school. It’s a wonderful selection of engaging and affordable books for every reading level. Please make plans to visit our Book Fair and be involved in shaping your child’s reading habits.
